Prioritise your heart health ❤️ South Asian men in the UK are almost twice as likely to develop coronary heart disease and tend to develop high blood pressure earlier than other groups.

🍓 Maintain a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats, while limiting salt and processed foods.

🧍🏽‍♂️Doing regular physical activity, managing stress, and staying connected with friends and family can further reduce your risk.

🩺 Don’t forget routine check-ups with your GP to monitor blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes risk.

We work with older people to maintain healthy heart through eating well, getting regular exercise appropriate to age and capability, and staying part of the community - all of which can be included in our home care support.

Why is it important to stay active when you have dementia?

When you have dementia, it’s important to try to keep doing things that you enjoy. You’re still the same person, and you can still be active and feel involved – you just might have to do things a bit differently.

Staying active and involved is important because it keeps you in touch, or reconnects you, with other people, and so can stop you from feeling lonely.

There are many other benefits to keeping active including maintaining physical and mental skills and improving self-esteem.
