🟣 FACIAL BALANCING 🟣

This patient of East African descent presented with a recessed maxilla and mandible, as well as bimaxillary proclination, meaning both the upper and lower teeth are forward tilting. Together with excess submental fat, this gave rise to a more convex appearance of the face.

To restore balance, we began with two sessions of HIFU to reduce submental fullness before moving on to filler. I used 4ml across the midface and tear trough complex to rebuild support and improve light reflection, and 3ml in the chin to project and lengthen the lower third. Because of her descent, commonly tissues are naturally thicker. Because of this, a slightly higher volume was needed to achieve soft, balanced results.

After two rounds of HIFU and one filler session, her profile now appears more harmonious and refined while staying true to her natural features 💜

The biggest risk when working with thin lips is migration. When too much filler is added over a short period of time, the product can spread outside of the lip border, leading to the dreaded “filler moustache.” When treating naturally thin lips, the key is patience and precision. Using small amounts spaced over months (or even years). This allows the lip tissue to slowly expand and build capacity for more filler, without compromising the shape.

As I always say, we can’t pick lips from a catalogue! Every treatment has to work in harmony with your natural anatomy, that’s the secret to beautiful, long-lasting results.

When filler is overused and the lips are stretched beyond their natural limits, dissolving reveals the full extent of the damage. The lips can appear flat, loose, and difficult to refill.

In this case, rather than simply refilling and stretching the tissue again, I knew I needed to take a different approach to contract rather than expand the tissue. To achieve this, we carried out:
• Two rounds of Lip Booster using Hydromax by for deep hydration and collagen stimulation, spaced four weeks apart
• A laser thermal treatment four weeks later to further boost collagen production

The result shown here is nine months after completing the course of treatment, with no filler used.

Although this approach takes time, it is a perfect example of how patience pays off, leading to long-term, healthy results.
