💕 Valentine’s Day at Cedar View Care Centre 💕
Love was truly in the air at Cedar View Care Centre as we celebrated Valentine’s Day in style! ❤️
Our wonderful residents enjoyed a delicious selection of chocolates and cakes, beautiful roses, and the sweetest company all around. 🌹🍰🍫
The highlight of the afternoon was a special performance filled with love songs from the fabulous singer Adina, who had everyone smiling, singing along, and even tapping their feet! 🎶✨
It was an afternoon full of laughter, music, and heartfelt moments shared together. Thank you to everyone who made it so memorable. 💖

✨ End of Year Awards Ceremony ✨
Here at Cedar View Care Centre we celebrated the end of the year in style with our very own awards ceremony 🏆
We honoured our wonderful residents with awards including Quiz Champion, Master Crafter, and our special Heart of Gold Award 💛
There were lovely speeches, a celebratory toast, and it was made even more special with relatives joining us to share the moment. A truly heart-warming afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, and pride.

🎄 Spreading Christmas Cheer 🎄

Everyone at Cedar Care Centre has been busy making Christmas cards for the people supported by Croydon Neighbourhood Care Association (CNCA). CNCA provides a much-valued bespoke befriending service, offering home visits to frail, elderly and housebound people with complex needs, many of whom are living with dementia.

They also run a volunteer-led telephone “keeping in touch” service, helping to reduce loneliness and ensure people feel supported and remembered, especially at Christmas. 💙

What a heart-warming morning 💛

We were delighted to welcome the wonderful children from Park Hill Infants to Cedar View Care Centre. The children sang beautifully and spent time chatting, smiling, and interacting with our residents – bringing joy to everyone in the room.

Moments like these show the magic of bringing generations together. Thank you to the children and staff for making such special memories 🌟

Students from Combe Wood School recently visited Cedar View Care Centre for an afternoon of shared activities and conversation with the residents. During the visit, the students joined residents in a variety of ball games that encouraged movement, teamwork, and plenty of laughter. They also spent time chatting with residents, listening to their stories, and building warm connections across generations. The visit created a joyful atmosphere throughout the care home, leaving both students and residents with memorable moments and a stronger sense of community.

Remembrance Week at Cedar View Care Centre
This week, we came together to honour the brave servicemen and women who gave so much for our freedom. ❤️

We were treated to a wonderful Remembrance performance by Jamie Steen, featuring beloved WWII songs and anthems that touched every heart. 🎶

The incredible D-Day Dollies also graced us with timeless tunes from Vera Lynn and The Andrews Sisters — a beautiful tribute through music. 🌹

What better way to remember their courage and sacrifice than with song? 🎵

✨ Remembrance Week Memories ✨
Today we were honoured to welcome Curator Renia to Cedar View Care Centre for a fascinating Handling History session. 🕰️

Renia brought with her an incredible collection of WW2 artefacts — including bomb shells that were dropped in Croydon, ration books, gas masks, soldiers boots, and a pilot’s jacket — each with a powerful story to tell.

Our residents loved reminiscing and sharing their own wartime memories as we reflected together on courage, resilience, and remembrance. ❤️

🎃👻 Halloween Fun at Cedar View Care Centre!
We had a spooktacular week full of creativity and smiles — from crafts and quizzes to making sweet bags and decorating pumpkins and a special viewing of the wizard of Oz in our cinema 🎨🍬🎃

To top it all off, we ended the week with a fantastic Halloween party filled with treats and the amazing sounds of singer Adina, who was absolutely fabulous! 🎶🧡

Our home was glowing with joy as we celebrated Diwali with beautiful lantern-making, music, and lights — followed by a special Diwali afternoon tea filled with laughter and love. 🪔💛
We also had the pleasure of celebrating one of our lovely residents’ birthdays, making the day even brighter! 🎂🎉

This morning, our residents enjoyed a warm brew and great conversation with Community Support Officer Ollie. He visits every other Tuesday to chat about all things local and keep everyone connected to what’s happening in our community. 💬💙
