Performing Medicine is proud to launch REACH, a landmark training programme for creative practitioners at the intersection of arts and health in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.

Funded by Greenwich Healthier Communities, our series of workshops and mentoring will help local artists build the professional skills, knowledge and understanding to design and deliver creative health initiatives to address health priorities within their communities.

Apply now if you are eager to develop your practice and become part of an exciting new network. Applicants must be living or working in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We are keen to hear from a diverse range of people, especially from groups underrepresented in the sector, those with relevant lived experience and understanding of Greenwich communities most affected by health inequalities.

Full bursary places (at London Living Wage) available for 8 artists.

About Performing Medicine

Performing Medicine exists to support health professionals to provide high-quality, compassionate care.

We pursue this mission through arts based training and courses, research, advocacy and public events. Through practical exercises and lateral-learning techniques, we nurture the flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness required to thrive within demanding healthcare environments.

Our practical, hands-on workshops are delivered by expert facilitators who draw on techniques from the arts to help healthcare professionals to use their bodies and voices for effective communication, and to better look after themselves and each other. With 15+ years of experience, our courses are accessible to all who work within healthcare.

Performing Medicine has been cited as an example of best practice in the 2017 report from the All Party Parliamentary Group on Arts, Health and Wellbeing. We have also been awarded the Times Higher Award for Excellence and Innovation and have been written about widely, including in the Guardian, the Lancet and the Telegraph.
