Proximal hamstring pain is a common issue in both athletes and active individuals, often presenting as discomfort high up in the buttock region where the hamstring tendons attach to the pelvis. In this new article, we look at why these injuries occur, typical symptoms, and the current evidence-based treatment pathways, including physiotherapy, load management, targeted injections when appropriate, and surgical repair for more severe tendon damage.
