Each one needs careful and considered management so get the right diagnosis and treatment early on.

Patient: ‘What can I do to get this ankle injury better quickly?’
Me: ‘Follow the rehab and give it time’
Patient: ‘But I need it better now!’

Foot and ankle injuries and surgeries take time to recover from. You’ll always see people posting on social media about how quickly they healed. If it were always that easy, we would never need doctors, physiotherapists, nurses and other health professionals.

Think positive, follow the rehab advice and give it time.

Tip 4 of 5 for rehab after your foot or ankle injury or surgery - get the right footwear! Don’t forget that wearing the right shoes helps you recover. Make sure they’re the right size, not worn out and support your foot shape appropriately.
