In Kakasana (Crow pose), your arms and shoulders create the shelf, your core responds, and only then balance follows. πŸ’«πŸ˜‰

This is a compact shape that asks for quiet confidence. Everything needs to work together. Wrists and core get a lot of attention here, but it’s the arms and shoulders that quietly do the heavy lifting so that you can achieve protraction, stability, and trust in your structure. πŸ’•πŸ•‰οΈπŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Shoulders, shoulders, shoulders. So much load. So little attention. πŸ˜…πŸ™ƒπŸ˜…

They stabilise, transmit force, and quietly hold us up in planks, chaturangas, arm balances - yet often get treated as an afterthought.

Strong shoulders are about organisation, timing, and learning how to support movement rather than muscling through it. πŸ’«

Next time you are on the mat, notice what changes when you give your shoulders the same care you give your hips or hamstrings. πŸŒ·πŸ˜‰πŸ©·

Virabhadrasana II - When the warrior opens the chest instead of the sword, strength starts to feel like surrender. πŸƒ

In that quiet moment between effort and ease, my breath reminds me that power can be soft.

What happens when you let your strength breathe? πŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸͺ·

Where you catch hold in Utthita Ardha Dhanurasana (Standing Half Bow) matters. πŸ˜‰

Ankle, shin, or foot. Each changes the conversation between balance, range, and effort.

Lower hold: more leverage, stronger kick. 🌟
Higher hold: less pull, more refinement. 🌷

There’s no β€˜right’ grip here, just the one that lets you stay steady, breathing, and responsive.

Where do you tend to catch hold in this pose, and why? ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Eka Pada Galavasana or Flying Pigeon. Yes, it’s about β€˜taking flight’, but more about staying with the work: core engaged, gaze steady, soft focus. πŸ’ͺπŸ½πŸ’«πŸ’•

Strength here is responsive. Balance happens with movement, not instead of it.

What helps you stay present when the work gets hard? πŸ€—

The magic of yoga multiplies when shared. πŸ₯°πŸ’«πŸ₯°

Every breath, every stretch, every moment becomes sweeter together. I’m so grateful for the lovely souls who flow, explore, and grow alongside me.
Yoga really feels like home when friends are there.

Thank you my dear yogi in crime Claire (pictured with me) πŸ’•

What shifts when we practise yoga together, even without touch or interaction?

You turn up to class feeling flat. You leave feeling a little steadier and maybe even energised. Nothing obvious happened, but a lot has changed.

In my latest blog article, I share some reflections on why group practice can feel so powerful. πŸ’•πŸŒŸπŸŒ·

In Hanumanasana the journey forward is just as sweet as the destination. 🩷
Every inch closer to the floor is a reminder of your strength, your patience, and what your amazing body is capable of. πŸ’ͺ🏽🌹

Feel the stretch, honour the effort, and explore the openness that grows with every breath.

How far can your body - and your curiosity - take you today? πŸ€—

Tripod Headstand takes time. πŸ˜‰

Attention needs to settle before the body can lift.

For a mindful practice, let the pause do some of the work. Pausing can shift the quality of effort, changing both the pose and the experience. πŸ§˜πŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸŒΊπŸ•‰οΈ
