I wish I had known about Osteopathy during my first pregnancy

Patients say this to us all the time in the clinic.

They wish they’d known about Osteopathy earlier.

They struggled with back pain or pelvic pain throughout their first pregnancy.

And now pregnant for the second time, someone suggests they come and see us for treatment, and they are so relieved.

Their symptoms are often resolved in one or two sessions, and they wish they had known about it before!

Back pain and PGP are so common in pregnancy - around 80% of women suffer, often unnecessarily.

Don’t be one of the 80%.

Our patients have found symptoms are often resolved in one or two sessions.

Contact us today to book in an osteopath session. Don’t take your pain as ‘normal’ - it isn’t.

Book your appointment with us. Just message us here or call on 020 7206 2625.

A tailored massage can help ease:
✨ Muscle tension
✨ Headaches & jaw tightness
✨ Stress & anxiety
✨ Pain from injury or postnatal strain

Every session is personalised to what your body needs most – whether that’s gentle, nurturing touch or deeper release.

✨ 3 Simple Ways to Strengthen Your Pelvic Floor ✨

Your pelvic floor works hard during pregnancy, birth and beyond - but with the right support, it can recover and feel strong again. 💪💙

Here are 3 things you can start today:
1️⃣ Breathwork – Slow, deep breathing (especially exhaling fully) helps connect and activate your pelvic floor gently.
2️⃣ Alignment Check – Good posture = better pelvic floor support. Try standing tall with your ribs stacked over your hips.
3️⃣ Hypopressive or Kegel Exercises – Gentle, consistent practice can rebuild strength without strain.

Remember: it’s not about doing more, but about doing it well. Small daily habits can add up to big changes, try to do one of the above whilst you boil the kettle for your morning cup of tea, or when you’re sat at a red light in the car, or watching your favourite Netflix show!

💙 Want extra support? Osteopathy can help relieve tension, improve alignment, and get your body working optimally again. Or book in for one of our Mummy MOTs — a full postnatal check-up designed to assess your pelvic floor, core and overall recovery.

Want a different approach? Have you tried hypopressives? Book with India Wilde in our Surbiton or South Wimbledon clinics.

❓ Q: Can my newborn see an Osteopath?

💡 A: Yes — osteopathy is safe and gentle for babies from birth.

From newborns to toddlers (and beyond), little bodies go through a lot as they grow. That’s why many parents choose to bring their babies and children to see one of our team. 👶

✨ We commonly see babies for:
General check-ups (especially after instrumental births like forceps or ventouse)
Postural assessments
Difficulty settling or sleeping
Tongue-tie assessments
General aches and pains
Feeding difficulties
Flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly)
Support with orthodontics

💙 How can osteopathy help?
We work closely with your babie’s body mechanics, helping joints, muscles and ligaments move as they should. When movement is restricted, it can impact so many things - from feeding to sleeping. By gently restoring balance, we support your little one’s comfort, development and overall well-being.

👩‍🍼 We know that when your baby feels better, you do too.

As a new mum, you probably spend hours each day curled up on the sofa — feeding, cuddling and soaking up those newborn moments. 💙

It’s beautiful… but it can leave your body sore. Shoulder tension, back niggles, stiff neck – sound familiar?

Here are 3 simple stretches you can do right where you are:
✨ Seated neck rolls – ease stiffness and tension
✨ Shoulder rolls – open up your chest
✨ Pelvic tilts – soothe your lower back

Tiny movements, big relief. 👏

And if the aches stick around, our postnatal specialist Osteopaths are here to give you that extra support – with appointments in Battersea, South Wimbledon and Surbiton.
