Self Care Sundayz.

Something I used to do fairly regularly was to find a nice coffee shop to sit outside of, with a good book and watch the world go by.

So when the opportunity came up today, I snatched at it.

I spent just over an hour journalling and reading in the shade, with an iced americano.

Bloody perfect if you ask me.

Go for a daily walk.

Water is needed for every bodily function, simple.

Start your day with a big glass of water and you’ll be surprised at how much more energy you have.

This is one I have to work on myself, but take them time before bed to reduce your screen time and relax fully before trying to sleep.

Give yourself a solid chance of high quality sleep and the following day will be filled with sunshine and rainbows.

Give your body lots of naturally sourced vitamins and minerals.

Competition Prep

As you might be aware, I have entered into my first powerlifting competition.

It’s this Saturday πŸ‘€

It’s something I have always wanted to do, but never gone through with due to the fear of failure and massive imposter syndrome.

What if I fail?
What if I embarrass myself?
What if I don’t do well?
Do I deserve to be there?

These are all thoughts that have crossed my mind.

But I am going to compete with myself, and myself alone.

What gets measured, gets improved.

When it comes to tracking progress, some clients are hesitant.

They don’t want to be tied down to the scientific numbers on a scale, if we use weight as an example.

They would prefer to go by how they feel, and I don’t disagree at all.

But I like to change their perspective on the process.

I get them to see it as a means of simply measuring progress over time, nothing more.

And in those times where we undoubtedly question β€œwhy am I doing this?” it’s super easy to refocus after seeing how far they have come without even realising it.

What gets measured, gets improved.
