How do you want your body to feel this year? ✨

This house you live in, the body that houses your human experience, massively impacts how you move through life.

When the moon widens her gaze, she calls us to transform 🌕 Under the light from this Super Full Moon we are shown what we are ready to shed before the closing of the year.

Gemini energy directs our focus towards harmonising the mind’s many voices. This lunar portal amplifies awareness, communication, and emotional release.

Emotional heaviness is unprocessed energy — stored patterns within the body from stress, overload, and disconnection.

When feelings are surpressed rather than expressed, or rather when they’re resisted rather than held in awareness... that rememberance is imprinted into the physical body. Tightness, restricted mobility, pain, stagnation are all signs that the physical body is congested.

Remember there is nothing wrong with you... your body is just letting you know there’s something to address, it’s not punishing you — it’s communicating with you. Your body is asking for your help.

Practices like gentle yoga, simple meditations, breath awareness and control, even just walking in nature will all help the body start to shift what it’s been storing without creating more resistance.

All you have to do is start by listening... tune into what your body is telling you, ask what it wants and needs 🤎

What can we do to unravel samskāras that are unknowingly controlling how we move and feel our way through the day?

Samskāras are impressions in our body, our mind, our psyche. These memories or patterns that we hold within are left by every karmic action we do, and every karmic actions our ancestors have done. We have a whole library of these imprints obscuring who we truly are, shadowing over our most divine inner being, and impacting how we think, feel, and move through life.

In yoga we travel through studying the self so that we can dissolves these samskāras. Through movement and postures (the āsanas), the control of the breath (prānāyāma), meditation (dhyāna), heat and discipline (tapas), and a surrendering to what’s bigger than us (ishvara-pranidhāna) — we soften the patterns of the ego, the self, the mind... and we begin to come home to ourselves, our truest highest nature.

Join us for deep and powerful meditations in our Sacred Soul, Sacred Breath, and Sacred Rest classes... practice for a month and notice the change in how you feel, see, and act!

Its all about the details — when designing our studio space, chose all the things that she gravitates towards. Neutral tones to calm the mind, earthy textures to ground the body, incenses that awaken the third eye. Our dark floors, candlelit classes, wooden walls, and beige interiors take you out of London, and make you feel like your somewhere else... Somewhere cosy, somewhere different, somewhere made for the practice of journeying inwards.

Yoga awakening happens not on the mat, but during your day when you start to move, act, and think from a sense of union. You become...

Less irritable, more compassionate.
Less competitive, more supportive.
Less judgemental, more accepting.
Less worried, more trusting.
Less greedy, more grateful.

Catching yourself in moments of alignment is showing you the progress of your yogic awakening. Over time you have more and more of these moments, the stream of divine energy becomes more consistent, and the beauty of the world, people, and life all around you seem to be more present.

We so often ignore the sides of our bodies not just in yoga but in life and they can end up feeling so tight! When we open up the sides of our chest, when we breathe into our ribs, we are opening the heart space. When we talk about the heart centre, it doesn’t run along the front and back of the body, its deep within us, right at the centre of our being.

To open the heart we need to open up the flow of prāna 360 degrees around our central channel. So give your side body a little extra love today, yoga class or not take a few side stretches and spend some time there just focusing on sending your prāna, your life force energy, to your heart centre as it rides the wave of the breath 🌬️✨🧡
