Uncommon - Community for Neurodivergent Tweens&Teens

Uncommon - Community for Neurodivergent Tweens&Teens Uncommon provides a safe, supportive online space for neurodivergent tweens and teens to make friends, explore creativity and grow in confidence.

Our mission is to help kids with autism, ADHD, PDA and more find their tribe, embrace who they are and thrive Uncommon is a wellness support platform built by neurodivergent people, for neurodivergent people. We’re on a mission to give neurodivergent young people the tailored support they need to embrace their strengths and face their challenges as they journey into adulthood. We work with clinical experts and neurodivergent people to create solutions that actually work for neurodivergent brains. Whether you're officially diagnosed or not, you’ll be able to access on-hand mental health support, practical guidance and a network of friends to support you through your journey. We Provide
- Tools + Support: Learn evidence-based techniques and strategies to improve self-confidence and mental wellbeing in an engaging and low-pressure environment.

- Accessible Sessions: Camera off or camera on, fully involved or just listening in - our virtual sessions are accessible anywhere and designed to support young people to participate at their comfort level.

- Connection + Community: We help young people feel less isolated in their struggles by connecting with peer mentors and other young people facing similar challenges in our our 6-8 person group sessions.

- Neurodivergent-led Design: Our materials are designed and delivered by neurodivergent clinicians and educators, and are tailored to address the unique strengths and challenges faced by neurodivergent young people. Built by Uncommon Minds
Founded by neurodivergent co-founders, Kirsten Jack and Sascha Evans, Uncommon Minds is built for, and by, neurodivergent people. We believe the best way to create solutions that work for uncommon minds, is to include those who have uncommon minds. That's why we've built a neurodivergent-first team of wellbeing experts, clinicians, educators and product design specialists, ensuring that our products and services are designed with lived experience perspectives in mind. This isn’t your average camp experience.

Every year our virtual Minecraft & Roblox camps sell out. Not because they’re excellent (though they are!), but because there simply aren’t many options designed specifically for neurodivergent young people.

We run small groups with low-demand participation, led by a 100% neurodivergent team who understand how different brains work — because they live it too.

It’s a space where ND kids can play, connect and be themselves without pressure.

Easter and Summer Half-Term spaces have just gone live and they usually go quickly. Head to our site for full information.

If you’ve been looking for something that actually works for your child, now’s the time. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Don’t miss out. 🎮

Huge news for us at Uncommon 💜

Our founder Kirsten Jack has been named a finalist for Wellbeing Champion of the Year at the Neurodiverse Business Awards.

Kirsten built Uncommon to be a space where neurodivergent young people are understood, believed, and championed, a space led by mentors who share lived experience & a space where difference is never a deficit.

Every mentoring session, every club, every last night thinking about how to make things more inclusive, kinder and more accessible for our community starts with her vision.

We are so proud - Congratulations Kirsten 💫

Traditional mentoring doesn’t work for every child - and that’s okay.

At Uncommon, our 1:1 mentoring meets neurodivergent children and teens where they already feel safe, confident and engaged: inside the games they love.

Through games like Minecraft and Roblox, our trained mentors build genuine relationships with young people in familiar digital worlds.

In-game mentoring creates space to:
• build communication and social confidence
• practise emotional regulation and problem-solving
• develop self-esteem and independence
• feel understood without pressure

By entering their world, we’re able to support learning, wellbeing and development in a way that feels natural, respectful and empowering.

Explore our mentoring options via our website or DM us for more information.

Because we work flexibly and understand that life happens, two last-minute places have become available on our Transitioning to Secondary School course for neurodivergent children aged 9–12.

This course usually fills well in advance, but we understand some families needed to change plans.

If you’re feeling that mix of “we need support” and “it all feels a bit soon to be thinking about secondary” this course is designed exactly for that moment.

The course starts Monday 26 January and once these two places are gone, that’s it, because we always keep cohort sizes small to support young people.

“I don’t fit in and don’t think anyone will ever understand me.”

If your child has said this - or something like it - you’re not alone.

Many neurodivergent young people feel this way, especially when anxiety builds about school, friendships, or the week ahead. These feelings aren’t a failure. They’re a response to being misunderstood for too long.

Our Understanding My Brain course is designed for neurodivergent young people (with or without a diagnosis).

Delivered in small, supportive groups of 4-12 young people, it combines evidence-based psycho-education and peer support to help young people:
• understand how their brain works
• feel less alone in their experiences
• build confidence and self-acceptance

Courses start 26th & 27th January - don’t miss out, there’s only a couple of slots left!

As this year comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what truly matters 💙

In 2025, Uncommon supported 936 parents and children and welcomed 534 new Uncommoners into our community.

Behind every number is a family navigating neurodivergent burnout, isolation, overwhelm - and finding connection, understanding, and relief.

We have such pride in creating spaces where neurodivergent teens & tweens can show up exactly as they are - with no pressure, no fixing & no expectations.

✨ January Offer ✨
To help more families access support after the holidays, we’re offering 4 sessions for £40 this January for neurodivergent teens & tweens.

Thank you to every child, parent, mentor, and supporter who made this year what it was. We can’t wait to continue building spaces where difference is celebrated, not managed.
