A major new prostate cancer screening trial is making headlines and could transform how the disease is detected across the NHS.

But as access to screening improves, demand for high quality prostate MRI reporting will only increase.

That’s where the right expertise matters.

Through our partnership with HLH Imaging Group, we’re expanding access to specialist prostate reporting, combining scalable technology with expert uroradiologists to support faster, more consistent diagnostics.

Because improving access to screening is only part of the solution. Accurate, timely reporting is just as critical.

The findings from the Global Radiologist Report 2025 are still as relevant as ever, providing a sobering look at the challenges facing the profession.

After surveying over 700 consultant radiologists across 50 countries, the data highlighted a field at a breaking point. Burnout was the top concern for 53% of respondents, closely followed by workforce shortages and the "brain drain" of locally trained clinicians.

Key insights from the report included:

Impact of night shifts: 63% of radiologists believed overnight work negatively impacts their performance and well-being, while 47% felt it reduces diagnostic accuracy.

Teleradiology as a lifeline: 98% of radiologists recognized the benefits of teleradiology, particularly for clearing backlogs and reducing workload pressure.

The AI gap: While interest was high, 57% of radiologists did not yet use AI routinely, viewing it primarily as a supportive tool rather than a replacement for human expertise.

At Everlight Radiology, these findings reinforce the importance of our "follow the sun" model. By utilising a global network of radiologists, we provide vital 24/7 reporting without forcing clinicians into the grueling night shifts that lead to burnout.

It remains clear that the sustainability of radiology depends on urgent investment in the workforce, smarter technology adoption, and more flexible working models.

At , a particularly interesting session on “Radiology under pressure: lessons from disaster, war and cyberattacks” highlighted how mass casualty events fundamentally change the way radiology operates, shifting from routine workflows to rapid triage and population level decision making.

In these moments, radiology becomes a critical point in emergency pathways, making fast, clear reporting critical for clinical decisions.

At Everlight Radiology, we have seen this first hand. Distributed reporting models can help maintain continuity when local services are stretched, supporting hospitals when they need it most.

Because resilience in radiology is not just about technology. It is about preparedness, collaboration and people.

Still reflecting on a fantastic week in Vienna at .

Some of the Everlight Radiology team were delighted to reconnect with friends and colleagues from across the radiology community during this year’s congress.

One highlight was a memorable evening at Das LOFT overlooking the city, a great setting to catch up, share perspectives and discuss the latest developments in radiology in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Moments like these remind us how valuable it is to come together as a community, strengthening relationships and exchanging ideas that help shape the future of radiology.

Thank you to everyone who spent time with us in Vienna. We look forward to continuing the conversations throughout the year.
