There's been lots happening in the Community Garden! 🌱

2025 was our best ever harvest, producing almost 260kg of fruit and vegetables. According to Capital Growth's Harvest-ometer, this adds up to:

🥕 £2,183.39 worth of produce and enough to contribute to 3,243 meals
🌍 550kg of CO2 saved compared to buying the same produce from the supermarket

A huge thank you to our brilliant volunteers who put in 1,920 hours, made 884 visits, and helped welcome 357 adults and 130 children into the garden.

We also started 2026 with three great composting workshops alongside Sustainable Merton, introducing 28 people to different composting methods and raising £164 to support the garden.

🌼 Save the date:
Our Community Garden Plant Sale will be on Saturday 23 May, 12–2pm.

We’re absolutely delighted to share that we’ve been awarded ‘Excellence’ in the Quality in Befriending Award, the highest accreditation available. 🏆

Achieving this award was a long and detailed process involving staff, befriending volunteers, and the people they visit.

We’re incredibly proud that we’ve achieved Excellence - a reflection of the energy and compassion our amazing volunteers put into supporting befriending clients across our community. A massive thank you to all of them!

Congratulations to the team at Wimbledon Guild for achieving their Quality in Befriending Excellence Award! 🏆️

This is the first time that Wimbledon Guild has undertaken the Quality in Befriending Award and the standard of the evidence they submitted was incredibly high. Their assessment highlighted an impressive culture of learning and improvement, and clear policies and procedures for service users and volunteers. Well done to the whole team! 👏
