Posner–Schlossman Syndrome, also referred to as Glaucomatocyclitic Crisis, is a rare condition characterised by abrupt, recurrent, unilateral Intra- Ocular Pressure (IOP) spikes with mild anterior chamber inflammation. This article highlights its clinical features, diagnostic challenges, differential diagnoses, and the importance of early detection to prevent long-term Glaucomatous visual field loss despite an overall favourable prognosis.

Aripiprazole is a commonly prescribed second-generation antipsychotic with notable systemic and ocular side effects. It is used for treating conditions like Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder with Depression, and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This article highlights its potential impact on eye health, particularly drug-induced transient Myopia, diplopia, and acute angle closure, emphasising the need for awareness and timely ophthalmic evaluation in patients receiving antipsychotic therapy.

Crocodile Tears Syndrome, also known as Bogorad Syndrome, is a condition named after F. A. Bogorad, a Russian Neuropathologist, and is often described as “Gustatory Lacrimation”. It is a rare condition causing inappropriate tearing during eating due to abnormal facial nerve regeneration. During recovery from facial nerve injury, the nerve may regenerate abnormally, causing its autonomic fibres to redirect toward the lacrimal gland rather than the salivary gland. This article highlights the neurological basis, the common causes, and the mechanism behind this syndrome.

🔍 Last Week’s Poll Results Are Back!

We asked our community about the biggest barrier to low vision rehabilitation, and the message was clear 👇

⚠️ Lack of awareness emerged as the leading challenge with 59% of responses — highlighting the urgent need for stronger education, outreach, and timely guidance.

Here’s how the rest of the responses compared:

Limited services — 24%
Cost of devices — 12%
Late referral — 6%

These insights remind us that improving awareness and access is essential to empowering individuals with low vision and enhancing their quality of life.

💬 What steps can we take to strengthen awareness and rehabilitation pathways in our communities? Share your thoughts below.

The evolution from open surgery to Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) has improved patient outcomes such as reduced complications, faster
recovery, and decreased risk of post-operative complications but created visual challenges for surgeons, primarily due to changes in intra-operative visual access and depth perception. This article highlights the critical role of binocular disparity in surgical accuracy, the limitations of monocular cues in MIS, and how 3-dimensional stereoscopic visualisation can enhance precision, training, and long-term visual comfort.

Dry Eye Disease is a multifactorial ocular surface disorder that has become a major public health concern, affecting individuals across all age groups. It is influenced by both modifiable risk factors like excessive screen time, contact lens usage, poor diet, and non-modifiable risk factors like age, female gender, genetic predisposition, and autoimmune disorders. This article highlights how the use of digital devices reduce blink rate, disrupt tear film stability, and accelerate evaporative stress, leading to inflammation and worsening ocular surface symptoms across all age groups.
