Recently we had Eric from the corner café in for treatment.
After two emergency hospital visits in one week for severe back pain and suspected sciatica, Eric was in a really bad way with pain and couldn't even run his café.
He visited Cher at the Shockwave Therapy Clinic twice, and the Shockwave has made a huge difference. Eric is even back to work this morning with minimal pain.
The combination of Radial and Focused Shockwave therapy targeted the deep-seated tension in his glutes and lumbar region that was causing him very strong nerve pain.
If you are struggling with chronic back pain or another MSK injury then Shockwave can truly speed up the healing process!
Why This Treatment Works!
This video shows a very specific "dual-action" approach that is perfect for back pain:
• Radial Shockwave: This is the tool Cher is seen using over the "broad area." It’s excellent for loosening up the large muscle groups (like the glutes) that often tighten up and "pinch" the sciatic nerve.
• Focused Shockwave: This reaches the deeper tissues and the lumbar spine directly. It helps reduce inflammation at the source of the nerve irritation, which is likely why you felt such a significant change after just two sessions.
• Targeted Relief: By treating the glutes and the lower back simultaneously, she's addressing both the source of the pain and the "referred pain" areas.
A Note on Sciatica.
While shockwave therapy is fantastic for soft tissue and inflammation, sciatica is often caused by a "pinched" nerve in the lower back. It’s a good idea to keep up with any gentle stretching and mobility exercises that we recommend to ensure that the muscles stay loose and don't put pressure back on the nerve.
