A Remembrance Day Reel ! ❤️
💬 Sometimes, the smallest things carry the heaviest stories. This one is about memory, love, and the quiet promises we keep. ❤️🌺
Peter came home from the war with very little - a few letters, a worn uniform, and a single red poppy someone had handed him as the train pulled in. He kept it on his mantel for years, a quiet reminder of faces and voices that never made it back. He would pin it onto his clothes every Remembrance Sunday.
When Shai became his carer, she’d sometimes ask about it. He’d just say, “It helps me remember.” That was enough.
On Remembrance Sunday 2021 when she finished working with him, Peter took the poppy down and gave it to her.
“Keep it,” he said. “So you don’t forget what today means.”
After Peter passed, Shai brought the poppy with her to her new role as a care manager. Every November, she wears it - not as decoration, but as a small promise.
Although the Poppy from 2025 looks slightly different, it is still a reminder of Peter, and of all the people we should never forget.
Lest we forget ❤️🌺

🧠💙 International Stress Awareness Week 💙🧠
This week, Visiting Angels is proud to join the global effort to highlight the importance of stress awareness and wellbeing — especially for those who care for others every day.
Carers give so much of themselves to support others, and it’s vital they feel supported too. 💛
Self-care isn’t a luxury — it’s essential.
Whether you’re a professional carer or caring for a loved one at home, remember:
✨ You deserve rest
✨ You deserve support
✨ You deserve to feel well
This week, we’re shining a light on caring for the caregiver — because care starts with you. 🌟

We know that extra door-knocking and excitement can sometimes feel unsettling for older adults. If you or a loved one would prefer a quieter night, simply switch off outdoor lights, settle in with a film or a warm drink, and enjoy the evening at your own pace.

Helping hands when you need them from a carer who really cares about you
Visiting Angels has been providing care across the world for 20 years. Our business has been built on recruiting, training and supporting the very best caregivers and enabling them to deliver premium quality homecare.
We know that our caregivers are brilliant, loving, professional people doing amazing work. Too often homecare workers are under appreciated but at Visiting Angels we put carers at the centre of our business to make sure they can deliver a truly person-centred service to your family.
Over the years Visiting Angels has introduced many innovations. With our Choose your Caregiver initiative we were one of the first home care providers to allow you to choose a caregiver who suits you.
Our Caregiver Rewards programme is another piece of best practice which helps to ensure that once you have built a bond with the carer they should stay with you for the long term.
We have always embraced accountability and been early adopters for compliance legislation in the home care sector.
At Visiting Angels we believe that when we look after the caregivers, they are better able to look after your family. Our current position as one of the UK’s first carer-centric businesses underlines this.
