Nasal supratip definition...

When we admire a nose from the front, that area just above the tip plays a pivotal role in how we perceive the tip itself. If it's flatter, the tip might seem indistinct or larger. But when it's narrower, it gives off that chiseled, refined appearance we all adore! It's all about creating the right balance. 🌟

Now, here's the interesting twist - when we shift to the side view and aim for that supratip break, the temptation is often to reduce the support significantly. But this can make the supratip look wider, and that's not what we're going for.

To tick all the boxes, it's often wiser to maintain support in the supratip region. This not only makes it look narrower but also creates the illusion of a more chiseled appearance from oblique views and the front. It's all about finding that perfect balance! 🌟

Definition above the nasal tip…

Nasal definition above the tip is all about the dorsal aesthetic lines. These lines create that enchanting play of light and shadow that defines the nose's character. But when the skin is thicker, this area can look smoother, with fewer shadows.

Another piece of the puzzle is the shadows that grace the top of the nostrils. They're like the icing on the cake! With thicker skin, this area tends to blend in, losing those dramatic shadows we desire. But here's the challenge - bringing tissues closer can affect breathing space. We need to strike a balance!

To create those captivating shadows, we can reduce the tip cartilages in the upper part for more definition. Additionally, we can work on reducing soft tissue thickness within limitations.

This set of before and after reduction rhinoplasty photographs showcases the transformation of a young woman who sought to correct a nasal bridge bump, slightly wide nasal tip, and droopy tip appearance.

The ultrasonic rhinoplasty with hybrid nasal dorsum de-projection technique used in the procedure achieved a reduction of the nasal bridge bump, slight nasal tip shortening, refinement of the nasal tip, and an overall improvement in facial balance.

The post-operative images demonstrate the patient's newfound confidence and natural-looking result that complements her other features.

This lady was unhappy with the appearance of her neck and lower face, as well as the position of the lateral brow.

She underwent a deep plane facelift and deep plane neck lift intervention combined with a temporal lift to address the laxity in the lower face and neck, as well as remove volume excess deep to the platysmal muscles (fatty tissue, digastric muscles, lower part of submandibular glands).

The results show the improvement at 6 months post-operative.

This patient came to us following a previous septorhinoplasty that left both functional and aesthetic concerns. After an initial consultation, we identified structural imbalances - including an over-reduced tip, loss of mid-vault definition, and deviation of the septum, that could be carefully addressed through revision surgery.

Deep plane neck lift is based on a combination of volume reduction and removal of skin excess to produce a natural looking balance of the neck and jawline.

As a result, in contrast with techniques that used predominantly tightening, it looks better over time as the swelling decreases. When the neck contouring is predominantly based on tightening, it looks best in the beginning and then starts to lose some of its aesthetic impact.

Light tension in the skin also ensures maintained shape and position of the earlobes and hardly visible scars.

Nasal skin characteristics in rhinoplasty...

One of the key topics in rhinoplasty is all about achieving that perfect definition. But skin thickness can make it more difficult to achieve! Thicker skin can be a bit like comparing silk, wool, and cotton - they all have the same thickness, but they produce different shapes.

In surgery, we can actually reduce the thickness of the layer just under the skin to help create the desired definition. It’s like tailoring the perfect fit! However, there are limitations.

Much of our discussion on achieving definition revolves around the characteristics of soft tissue. While we can directly influence support, cartilage, and bone structures, we have less direct influence on the soft tissues.
