“One of the most powerful moments was performing the Theatre of the Oppressed, it wasn’t just acting, it was reliving our experiences, facing our fears, and finding a way to push through them” 🎭

For Rehab, this was her first time traveling, and it became one of the most important experiences of her year in 2024.

Through the program, she used art to understand her own emotions, experiences and deal with them in a different way.

Now, after 2 years, we reflect back on her experience and how she took this back to Tunisia, using painting to support healing and create space for connection.💙

Thank you Rihab, we miss you a lot! 🤍

How many times have we tried to “talk” our way through a feeling, only to end up stuck in our own heads? 🌀

Most of us are taught to learn through listening, reading, and analysing, etc.. But emotional intelligence is a muscle. That’s why we got bored of the desks and the “small talk” and started to use a stage instead :)

In YvB programs, we don’t intend to ‘train’ actors, and put on a show, but we really intend and LOVE to use theatre as a playground to figure out who we actually are when the pressure is on. 🎭

So, as we always say, in our sessions, there’s no “right” way to perform. We just get into role-plays and real-life scenarios that let you youth actually feel the situation instead of just describing it. We would say it is like the difference between reading a map and walking the trail. (we learn by doing).

By stepping into that, we get to test/drive our reactions and we also get to see how it feels to set a boundary, how our bodies react to conflict, and how much space you’re allowed to take up.

We are really excited for our next program journey in 10 days for Facilitation Tactics in Matsevani, Georgia to train a new group of arising facilitators to be able to promote mental health and wellbeing through art.

Stay tuned to learn more about our methods and updates from the program as well (oh and stories from previous participants) 💛

Our team just got a whole lot more fun! 🎉

Meet and welcome our newest volunteers joining the Yellow vs. Blue family, Sude, Aya and Marina! 🙌

Sude is our chocolate enthusiast 🍫, Aya is the ‘only human alive’ who says no to cheese ‘we guess’? 🧀 (we’re still processing this), and Marina? If excitement was a person, it’s absolutely her ⚡

We are SO excited to have them on board and can’t wait to see the results of everything we are already creating together! We are also so grateful for the energy our weekly meetings bring!

Welcome to the team, you three! 💛

Let’s take a look back at our first journey to Utøya.✨

Art of Change 2024 was a space full of emotions, stories and powerful performances.

During the project, participants started calling those days “laughs, tears and glitters” and that phrase became the heart of this journey.✨

Here are a few moments that give a glimpse into how beautiful this experience truly was.💛💙

Here comes more projects that were implemented as a part of Art of Change 2.0.

Change is possible, meaningful impact is possible. We sometimes might feel like we don’t hold any power, but we always do. We can affect our communities and people around us. Something small that you do or say might change someone’s day. Small acts of care, encouragement and support can go a long way. 💛💙
