Deficit Diaries – Week 4/12

This week wasn’t a write-off, but it also wasn’t 100%.

Some days were solid, some sat closer to maintenance. Work was full on, my priorities were other things this week and that’s ok. It does mean that training, cardio and even my education took a bit of a back seat.

And here’s the big learning for me…

I’m actively trying to take the pressure off myself with this diet.

Yes, I want to look leaner by the end of these 12 weeks but I’m not stepping on stage. A couple of imperfect days genuinely do not matter in the grand scheme of things.

I’ve spent years dieting with deadlines, extremes and “no room for error”, and I’m consciously choosing to do this differently. Slower, calmer, more sustainable. If things don’t go exactly to plan, it’s not the end of the world and I’m done putting so much f*cking pressure on myself over it.

The win this week? I didn’t let last week continue into this one. Nutrition is back on track, cardio is coming back into the routine, and we move forward without guilt.

From here on, I’m genuinely trying to diet more intuitively, trusting the process, not panicking when things aren’t perfect, and letting consistency do the work, because i’m l fed up of causing myself unnecessary stress.. I needed this not so perfect week as a bit of turning point tbh

Deficit Diaries – Week 2 of 12

This week looked a little different.

Family came first, and I focused on doing what I could rather than forcing perfection. I knew going in that this wasn’t going to be a a “perfect” week, and that’s okay.

With no drinking or va**ng, I was already aware food might become a bit of a comfort this week. I allowed that, without guilt, and moved on. This week was about family, and one, two or even three days off meal prepping and planning is not going to be the best all and end all of this cut.

Training took a bit of a hit while I was away, but once I was back I made a conscious effort to get moving again. Not to “make up for anything”, just to clear my head. As much as I dread cardio it always makes me feel 1000x better. There’s nothing I wanted to do less than my steps and my cardio on a Sunday evening but I’m so glad it’s done,I feel 1 million times better and I’ve set myself up for a much more positive and productive week.

Weight stayed the same as last week, which I’m genuinely happy with.

This is what sustainable dieting actually looks like.
Life still happens, just because it’s not perfect doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good week… because this was as perfect as this week was clever going to be.
