Many of you know that for years I was terrified of flying. Not just uneasy—truly terrified. People have seen me scream, shout, cry, drink too much just to get through a flight. I even tried the Fearless Flyer course, and while it gave me a boost in the moment, nothing ever lasted. The fear always returned.
Later in life, I became a yoga teacher and trained as a breathwork facilitator. At first, my daily practice wasn’t about flying at all—it was about presence, connection, and creating space for myself. But then something unexpected happened. When I started practising breathwork on planes, I could feel the difference. Slowly, steadily, the change became real.
I’ve now been flying without fear for a while. Even when I recently experienced an emergency landing, I stayed calm and grounded. And last month, when I flew with friends, it was them who couldn’t believe their eyes. They remembered the old me—the one who shook, drank, screamed—and here I was, steady, peaceful, even smiling.
Breathwork didn’t just help me with flying. It’s helped me with so much more: my anxiety, my fears, my stress levels, my relationship with myself. It’s been a doorway into a calmer, more connected way of living.
That’s why I’m so passionate about it. If I can change, if I can conquer my fears through breathwork, then so can you.
I’m not here to tell you to come to me (though of course I’d be happy to help if you wanted). What I am saying is this: start. Choose your guide, choose your practice, but start breathing—really breathing—today.
Because sometimes the most powerful transformations begin with the simplest act: one mindful breath.
My next workshop is on 23/11/2025
