Should children attend funerals? UK Funerals are almost always on a weekday so children are very often at school so permission needs to be granted. I note that pure cremation (direct cremation) have changed their message from no funeral because “nobody likes them do they?” to suggesting a memorial service instead to save on cost. As a trained funeral celebrant, this is something I can assist with. The “no crematorium” service can be held in your own home or in a venue of your choice without the normal restrictions on time.
