When Chris Bumstead revealed his new hairline, the internet went into analysis mode.
Most people focused on whether it was “too straight”… but the real issue is something most viewers can’t see at first glance.
In the video, I break down why the result looks unusual:
• the original design drawn in Turkey was completely straight
• after growth, it settled into an inverted curve — higher in the middle, lower at the corners
• that shape actually resembles a female hairline, not a male one
• male hairlines naturally rise at the corners because of skull shape
• when this isn’t understood or explained properly, patients end up with an unnatural frame to the face
This isn’t about criticising another clinic — it’s about education.
A hairline is architecture.
One wrong line can change the entire expression of a face.
If you’re considering a transplant, study the why behind every design choice.
It’s the difference between looking enhanced… and looking unrecognisable.
