A big thankyou to my clients who have felt the desire to share their experience of our sessions. A mixture of testimonials from Group Mat Class, Zoom Sessions and 121's in the studio, it just goes to show however we connect.. movement can have a huge impact on us all.

Grateful for the wonderful people I get to work with, grateful for my job and grateful for being able to share the amazing things I've learnt through Pilates!

💜

Some exciting things lined up to offer my clients! Can't wait to share with you all. Have a wonderful week😁 M x

There is no such thing as "can't" in my sessions unless it is followed by a "yet".

The story we tell ourselves is just as vital as the physical movement. A mind-body movement experience will only be limited if your message is no.

Sometimes limitations are strategic and we just need to try a different approach to how we tackle the pattern of movement, maybe your body is in a habit of moving the same way and that way isn't working for you anymore?

Next time your approaching something you normally find hard, try and breakdown the pattern and notice where you struggle the most. That will give you the most information on where needs more attention.

Never rule out the possibilities with your mind, otherwise you've already signalled that to your body before you've given it a chance.

Weekend getaway🤩

I cannot stress how vital it is to take breaks and change up your environment! I often find my clients move and settle into sessions the best when they are having a little break from work or their diary isn't as crazy.

It's quite significant what impact stress has on your body even if you're not aware of it. The thing is with Pilates if you're not able to drop out of all the other thoughts going on in your mind, it can be really hard to get that mind-body connection and when you don't grasp that, movement can be mindless.

As an instructor the cues we give are there to give you reminders of where your intention wants to be and sometimes it's not until you hear and resonate with something that you move differently.

I hope everyone is having a lovely restful weekend, ready to get back to sessions from Tuesday💙

Slowly and surely making my way through this book. It is definitely what I would describe as a "pause and reflect" book, I think that's how I learn best- little by little. Just like Pilates.

Within our pilates practise we encourage being present and in tune with your body: listen, notice, pause. I think it is one of vital ingredients to create change, working with the same intentions.. mind and body as a duo.

It really is incredible what doors being mindful can open up and it's the same with movement patterns. Some of the biggest changes I have seen in clients is when they move from this place, even from a "simple" pelvic clock. Things release how they should and then pull back in from the right places.

Loving this learning process that pilates provides me, my new goal is to "do less and be more". Forever learning, growing and evolving.

Finally some sunshine to help motivate me to run outdoors! Even if the ground is wet...

Listening to your body always is key, today something told me to get out and take run, nothing too strenuous just make some distance, enjoy the sun and get some fresh air.

Your body knows! If something feels like too much hardwork and your forcing yourself, ask yourself.. what part of you is actually wanting/forcing you to do that?

Now off to for an afternoon of clients. Have a wicked day, let's hope this weather lasts!

Hey pilates people, it's Monday and I want to wish you all a lovely week ahead of you and to let you know I have some clients away over August and therefore some space in my diary for new faces or old 🤪! Face to face studio or online mat.. take your pick!

My sessions are completely tailored to my clients, so if it's a specific goal you have.. rehabing an injury or just generally wanting to understand your body better and feeling good, 121's are always a good starting point.

Drop me a message if you fancy moving and grooving with me and I can let you know where and when to find me 😘

Love to all,
Mx

Sunday play... it's been a while!

Here are a variety of different exercises, all different on different apparatus but all have very similar things in common: hip extension!

Why is hip extension so well featured within our Pilates practise?!

The majority of us at some point will feel the aches from tightness in our hips. Our working lifestyles often require us to sit for hours, meaning the constant fold and flexion of our thighs in our hips takes its toll and we dont often give our hips the opportunity to find length and gain space.

Want to explore ways to open up your hips with me?! Drop me a message to book in your intro session! 🤩

Because otherwise what are you doing it for?

So many of us bash our bodies around, jam our joints, squeeze to create shapes and can often do the things that our body doesn't necessarily need.

Pilates encourages you to move "well". Take time in your week to discover the why and how's and to find ways to make your movement feel good- not always hard.

The more you gain an understanding in your pilates practise, the easier it is to implement it into your functional life.

Let's start to look into efficient movement patterns, things that serve our body and enable us to live comfortably💭

•LOVE YOUR SPINE•

Let's change it up and stop obsessing so much on over- working superficial muscles. The truth is, if you want "abs" that work well for you, you're going to need to find that connection to your spine.

Back pain, poor posture, limited movement, difficulty breathing? So much of this can be helped by spine articulation. Moving well, in all planes with fluidity and ease.

Let's start to notice and love our spines!
