🌿 Supporting Teen Wellbeing Through Yoga & Mind–Body Education 🌿

👋 my name is Charm & I’d like to share a little more about the work I do supporting young people through yoga, mindfulness, and wellbeing practices — both in the community and in education settings.

✨ Specialist Training in Teen Yoga & Yoga Therapy:
Alongside working with adult clients, I have chosen to specialise in teens. I have completed extra yoga teacher training and extensive yoga therapy training specifically focused on supporting teenagers. This allows me to offer developmentally-appropriate practices that help teens build strength, confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience.

✨Wellbeing Workshops in Schools:�
I provide schools with themed workshops on stress management, focus, emotional balance, exam support, and healthy habits. These sessions are designed to be engaging, accessible, and grounded in evidence-based practices.

✨ In-Person Classes for Homeschoolers:�
I run small, welcoming daytime yoga classes specifically for home-educated teens. These sessions offer physical activity, community connection, and a calm space to unwind and recharge.

✨ Online Teen Yoga for the Duke of Edinburgh Award:�
For 5 years I have run online yoga classes that qualify for the Physical section of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Flexible scheduling makes it easy for teens to stay consistent and meet their goals.

✨ Yoga Therapy for Mental & Emotional Health:�
I hold 1:1 yoga therapy sessions for teens experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, overwhelm, sleep or body issues & other mental health challenges. Sessions are gentle, tailored, and empowering.

Yoga therapy can take many forms
It can be:

Mindfulness - to feel present
Movement - small, big, fast, slow, whole or 1 area -
to connect to your body
Breath work - to feel centred
Empowering through regulating your nervous system

Yoga therapy is not a “class”. The session is always focused on an individual & their specific need.

Yesterday I had a mixture of clients & so a mixture of the above was needed.

Sharpening skills like motor & proprioception & vestibular through…

Teaching yoga to kids is different from teens & adults & therapy work.

I’ve found that an emphasis on creativity & fun is always appreciated! So as we draw towards the end of term we are exploring this to the fullest!

I had the honour of a whole day sharing yoga with the lovely Year 12’s & accompanying staff members

We looked at how yoga can support sports, concentration, relaxation & perhaps most importantly to self regulate.

I thoroughly enjoyed & exhausted myself☺️

Y O G A = G I F T

Today I’m 47 & will spend most of my birthday alone. I will relish the space to do as I want…which is go to the beach🏝️

Being a mum is my most important job & it means I can’t always do things exactly when I want - Or atleast I FEEL I can’t cos of “mum guilt”…
I am still working on letting that one go😬

This mornings ritual of yoga practice made me very sweaty -easy to do here in 30 degrees & then a couple minutes into pranayama & meditation practice I noticed I had fully cooled down…
I was again reminded that yoga has the ability to change so much in my life. It’s the underlying support in my life - like my mum😊

I am so much more aware of the space it gives me- physically in my body, in my thoughts & in my actions - the ability to not react to things, or to notice when I do & to pull myself back. Perhaps most importantly not to judge myself for it
To accept I can’t always change things & to let things have their own space
I am continually learning through & about yoga - a forever student 👩‍🎓

Yoga is such a gift in my life- the best birthday present that continues to give🎁
& I have my mum to thank for that as she took me to my first class when I was 17

✨Yoga has the ability to help through many different avenues
✨Yoga doesn’t demand anything -you can put in a small amount & always get more back
✨Yoga doesn’t judge you - whatever you put in is enough
✨Yoga accepts every one & every body
✨Yoga gives you moral & ethical codes that help you to be a good human in a difficult & volatile world
✨Yoga shows you the good bits & not so good bits about yourself & makes you stronger from that knowledge
✨Yoga is an ancient practice but through hundreds of studies it’s scientifically backed

💝I LOVE sharing yoga with people as it’s sharing this gift.

Men Only- Tuesdays 7.30-8.30pm

Beginners/Intermediate- Thursday 9.15-10.15am
