We would like to capture stories from people from a range of settings who are working in health and care during COVID-19 and from residents/carers, voluntary faith and public sector leaders. Their stories will provide an in-depth and personal account of the issues that matter most to people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds (BAME). The stories will shine a light on the good work by local people supporting each other, their neighbours, community and services.
Through feedback from staff and communities we have identified mental health and wellbeing as a priority area in the first instance, we have also sub-themes under the mental health and wellbeing these include the impact of:
• Living in overcrowded homes and with 3 or 4 generations living in the same households.
• Perceived vulnerability to COVID-19 due to pre-existing long-term conditions such as Asthma, Diabetes
• Socio-economic status in particular Financial worries and the stresses that puts on physical and mental health.
• Sources of information, misinformation and the role of social media (including WhatsApp groups) in spreading misinformation.
