Thousands of people in South East London will spend Christmas alone this year. Many more will feel isolated even when surrounded by others.

At DUT, we provide free and nominal-cost therapy, group work and workshops from our centre in Greenwich, providing vital support for people feeling overwhelmed, isolated and under pressure at this time of year.

Help someone feel less alone this Christmas. Many people in South East London will spend the season alone or feeling isolated. Your gift helps someone in our community access support when they’re feeling most alone over the festive period.

🌍 World Mental Health Day 2025

With so much war, fear, division, and struggle in the world, our mental health is under pressure like never before.

This year’s theme reminds us: even in crisis, everyone deserves care.

So be a little kinder. Offer a hand. Check in on someone—even if you barely know them.

A small act of compassion can mean the world. 💚

Phil Ubee

7th December 1952-5th July 2025

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Phil, the first Chairperson of our Trust. His unwavering dedication, quiet strength, and steadfast support laid the foundation upon which our work continues to grow.

The Trust, named in honour of his beloved first wife, reflects the values Phil held close throughout his life—compassion, integrity, and service to others. He was not only a guiding presence in our early years but remained a deeply committed supporter, mentor, and friend as we grew.

Phil’s legacy lives on in every project we've undertaken and in every life touched by the work he helped to shape. His calm leadership and quiet belief in the power of kindness will continue to inspire us for years to come.

His recent battle with MND only highlighted once again the same resilience, dignity, and quiet courage that defined him. The past few months have been incredibly hard, yet Phil faced them as he did everything—with grace, an enduring smile, and a deep concern for others before himself.

Phil passed away peacefully on Saturday evening with his loving family by his side. We will miss him more than words can say, and we will carry his memory with us in all that we do.

We send our love to Jo, Mike, and Lily, and to all of Phil’s wider family and friends.
May he rest in peace.
