(sorry for my extremely loud gulp?!?!) Pregnancy transfers large amounts of vitamins, minerals and fatty acids to the baby 👶 Labour can further deplete nutrient stores, particularly iron. Breastfeeding then continues that demand 🍼
Combine this with poor sleep, stress, skipped meals and the intensity of early motherhood and it’s not surprising many women feel nutritionally run down post-partum.
Research suggests that some women may still be nutritionally depleted up to a year after birth 🤯 with symptoms such as fatigue, low mood, anxiety and brain fog.
