After 20 years of curating some of the world’s leading wellness retreats, we’re delighted to introduce something new for our milestone year — a collection of Wellness & Culture journeys.

These bespoke itineraries are designed for travellers who want more than a structured programme. They combine immersive nature, heritage, cuisine and meaningful exploration — allowing wellbeing to unfold naturally through place.

Our first Signature journey takes us to Madeira, an island shaped by volcanic landscapes, Atlantic trade routes and year-round gentle climate.

From walking the historic levadas of the Laurisilva Forest to sunrise above the clouds at Pico do Arieiro, private cultural experiences in Funchal and farm-to-table dining rooted in local tradition, this six-day journey blends restoration with depth.

Each itinerary is entirely bespoke and can be adapted to your pace and interests.

If you’re curious about experiencing Madeira in a more immersive, thoughtful way, we’d love to share more.

In last week’s newsletter, our founder shared something personal.

Not just because she sees exhaustion in others —
but because she recognises it in herself.

The kind that comes from being capable, responsible, and always “on.”

She compiled four retreats she would personally choose when escape isn’t the priority — but recalibration is.

If this feels familiar, perhaps it’s time to consider what support looks like for you.

Are you drinking less in 2026?

More people are rethinking their relationship with alcohol — not as a rule, but as a wellbeing choice.

Research in the UK shows a steady rise in people choosing to drink less or take regular breaks from alcohol, often motivated by better sleep, improved energy, gut health and mental clarity. Cutting back is increasingly seen as a positive step towards health, rather than a restriction.

In this clip, Dr Athasit Armonthanomchoke from RAKxa Integrative Wellness Retreat discusses the short and long term benefits of cutting down on alcohol.

At RAKxa, mindful living extends beyond treatments. Guests can also enjoy RAKxa Blanc de Blancs, a refined non-alcoholic drinks menu created to celebrate special moments — without compromising wellbeing.

Discover Rakxa at the link in bio, or talk to our team about your next alcohol-free Wellbeing Escape.

Small practice 👉 BIG impact

When stress builds up, the nervous system needs a signal that it’s safe to settle — or reset.

In this clip from one of our Wellbeing At Home sessions, Gopal from Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary explains how stimulating the vagus nerve through breath can help calm the body and restore energy.

Try this simple technique:
▪️ Two short, sharp intakes of breath through the nose
▪️ One long, slow exhale through the mouth

Just a few rounds can help regulate your nervous system, sharpen focus and bring you back into balance — especially during busy or emotionally heavy periods.

A small practice, with a big impact.

This Easter, something rare is happening on the Amalfi Coast.

At a retreat where care is unhurried and presence is the highest form of luxury, Datu welcomes Tulku Lobsang Rinpoche — a Tibetan Buddhist master whose teachings are rooted in lineage, humanity and lived wisdom.

Across a small number of intimate sessions, guests will experience Tummo Fire Breath — awakening warmth, vitality and energetic flow — alongside Dzogchen meditation, a profound practice of resting in the mind’s natural clarity.

This is not wellness as performance.
It’s not optimisation or spectacle.
It’s time, attention and care — offered without rush.
A recalibration, rather than an escape.

Discover Datu Wellness & Ayurveda Retreat, and why moments like these are becoming the new definition of luxury.
