A host of top sports stars and governing bodies express fears that playing fields across England could be built on and disappear if proposed planning reforms come into force.

The news cycle today rightly highlights the support of a multitude of stars (via , Jill Scott and HRH Prince William) against the loss of Britain’s sports and playing fields.
We’ve struggled to be understood - against a slick and beloved brand such as (everyone loves the tennis!) - that the developer has over time, acquired public land used for public recreation and sport including for local kids. Bought at a massive undervalue and promising never to develop at all, big signs saying “keep out”, with security and dogs from time to time… from public space to private sports complex - our story is just the same.
We fully support this campaign and lend our voice to the call for greater protection against the New Enclosure which has seen 10% of public land transferred to private hands since the 1980s by stealth.
Devolution of power to cash strapped local decision makers is fraught with problems and needs robust challenge and protections.
