1 in 8 men will develop prostate cancer and it is the most common cancer in men.

Your risk increases with age, and it mainly affects men over 50 years old. You have a higher risk if you have a family history or are black.

It is important to speak to a healthcare professional about getting a blood test (PSA blood test) if you are 50 or from 45 if you have a higher risk, as the earlier it is detected the more successful the treatment.

Our Urgent Care Centre offers you fast access to an emergency medicine consultant from 8am to 7pm every day for minor injuries and illnesses, including stomach issues.

We accept walk-in patients over 18, no appointment or referral necessary.

Please note that patients who have suffered severe life or limb-threatening injuries, have signs of a stroke, or have severe, central crushing chest pain should call 999 immediately.

Congratulations to Professor Long Jiao, Consultant General Surgeon, who was recently recognised at The Peoples' Awards receiving the award for Medical Consultant of the Year.

The Peoples' Awards celebrates individuals who have broken barriers, challenged convention, and made outstanding contributions to public life over the past year.

Prof Long Jiao is a leader in the field of hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery. He is an expert in minimum invasive liver and pancreatic surgery and open surgery for advanced pancreatic and liver cancers, having performed the largest number of laparoscopic and robotic pancreatic and liver operation in the UK, including the first Robotic Whipple’s operation in the UK and Malaysia, and first synchronous liver resection. He has also described a number of new techniques for pancreatic and liver operations.

More recently, he became the first surgeon in the UK to perform HPB operations on the da Vinci Single Port at Cromwell Hospital.

"I am deeply grateful for this prestigious award and recognition. I look forward to continuing my work to provide the best possible care for patients," Prof Long Jiao shares. "I'd like to also share a special thank you to Cromwell Hospital for providing the latest robotic platform."
