How To Survive A Heart Attack When Alone

When you are really tired, upset and frustrated you can start experiencing severe pain in your chest, arm and up in to your jaw. If this is the start of a heart attack, you have only 10 seconds before losing consciousness. Here’s what to do to help yourself:

- when your heart is beating improperly and you begin to feel faint, start coughing repeatedly and very vigorously

- take a deep breath before each cough (the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest)

- a breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again

Deep breaths get oxygen into your lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating helping to regain normal rhythm. In this way, you can get to a hospital or wait for the help to arrive.

Is cold water harmful to our heart?

The Chinese and Japanese drink hot tea with their meals, not cold water, and maybe it is time we adopt their drinking habit while eating.

It is harmful to have cold drink/water during a meal because the cold water solidifies the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion.

What Is Myocardial Infarction?
The term “myocardial infarction” focuses on the heart muscle and the changes that occur in it due to the sudden deprivation of circulating blood. It is usually caused by thrombi (clots formed in arteries and veins) that block the blood flow and cause ischemic necrosis of the heart muscle. If you suspect the onset of a heart attack, it is important to address the ambulance service urgently and seek first aid.
