❤️ ANOTHER LIFE SAVED ❤️
Every time one of the organisations we work with report to us that they’ve saved a life we like to share this great news.
This one is pretty special… as today a father gets to see his family again because of the actions of his own family.
Whilst being visited by his daughter and grandson he collapsed in cardiac arrest in front of them.
His daughter, having undertaken annual practical CPR training (as a non clinical member of a hospital healthcare team) promptly started quality CPR.
Her son, who had recently undertaken a first aid course with the army cadets, called 999 and ran to get a public access AED, returned and deployed this simple life saving device.
Between them they delivered continuous quality chest compressions and administered two shocks when indicated by the AED, until the arrival of the paramedic team.
Within hours he was back talking to his daughter and grandson, whilst being treated in ICU for the underlying cause of his collapse.
Such a fabulous story that shows the chain of survival works.
Phenomenal life saving efforts all round. Especially the efforts of his daughter and grandson.
But from those that treated this gentleman, to those that researched & designed the systems to get to where we are, those who organised and delivered training, those who chose to keep an aed on there premises to those who put £1 in a BHF charity tin - every aspect is a factor to increase survival.
Too many to thank - but every individual saved is forever grateful for your efforts.
