Until not many years ago, the idea of integrating the worlds of Western medicine with complementary medicine seemed as remote as achieving peace in the Middle East. Over the years, an enormous amount of work has been accomplished, thanks to the dedication, openness, and humility of professionals. Today, most couples undergoing fertility treatments benefit from holistic approaches that address the emotional, physical, and mental aspects of their health. When these treatments are administered within hospital settings, in close collaboration with top-tier doctors, the results are astounding on an international scale. This development is significant for both conventional medicine and Chinese medicine.
A few years have passed since I joined the complementary medicine unit at Shaare Zedek Hospital. The feelings of pride and appreciation I feel are only getting stronger. Every encounter with every patient is a huge privilege.
