Live in care duties and activities;

Realistically, the live in caregiver's primary duties should be taking care of the one receiving care, keeping them company, making sure that medication is take (if any), cooking some light meals and probably following up on suppliers if the family is happy with that.

If family members or next of keen is aware of interests of their loved, It would be great for them to share that with the caregiver so they can engage the care receiver in some of their favorite activities.

Live-in carer job description

Most carers will naturally use their own initiative when carrying out care services at home.
You’ll also find that some live-in care agencies train caregivers, assess and carry out regular checks to ensure a high standard of care service is provided at all times.

Some live in carers jobs are private or self-employed. This means that the relatives have to be the employer and carry out all the nitty gritty of being one from holiday, sick and covers for days off.

If they choose to get a care agency, then they can leave all that for the agency to worry about. They usually have trained staff who can cover and they can supervise.

Engaging a home care agency means that you don’t have to handle all this as they take care of all that and all one does is being the family member that they are.

Less stress and more quality time with their loved one.

Where to find a live-in care agencies...

Unless you have someone recommended to you, the internet is a great place to start from when looking for live in caregivers.

Most care agencies specialise or prefer to work in specific areas or care. While many do do provide live-in care services some choose no to.

Best to find out first if they do and what sort of arrangements they have in terms of breaks, covers and change overs.

Some will have it clearly stated on their websites others may not have it detailed out as each service user is different, so they'd prefer carrying out an assessment first to see if they can carter to their needs or not.

Elderly home care is favorable for people with moderate to high mobility issues due to falls or post-surgery, mild dementia suffers, or one with a medical condition that requires them to be checked upon regularly.

Care at home is also great for those who need companion care, someone to plan their day, go out to concerts or shows with, talk to or just to know that there is another human around should they need help.

Why live in care is a preferred type of care for the elderly..!

From a relatives perceptive, live in or in home care is a more desirable type of care mainly because it is at home and gives them peace of mind, knowing that their loved one has a caregiver at home 24/7.

Having a live in carer also means that the one receiving care doesn’t have to be rushed through activities such washing or getting dressed, meal times or taking medication.

As a parent or relative, you naturally want to do well for your family. However, senior care is something which can be very difficult to do around the clock, especially when you consider that there’s a lot of responsibility which goes into making sure that they’re okay.

24 hour live-in care is most suitable for seniors living with moderate to high care needs such as mobility issues, washing, getting dressed, prompting to take medication and or need help to transfer from one place to another using transfer equipment.

Some seniors become totally disoriented due to diseases such as Alzheimer/dementia that they need guidance round their own home. Many need assurance that they are in a safe environment and to be reminded of basic activities such as eating, taking fluids or using even bathroom facilities.

Live-in is an all-round home health care where the elderly receiving care has full in home care or support round the clock.
