Most High Foods Ltd was founded by myself to specialise in Functional foods/ whole foods and natural healing; which our bodies are capable of doing under the right conditions and environment. I am a Registered holistic nutritionist, ancestral herbalist (in Jamaica its called Bush doctor/bush medicine taught to me by the women in my family), and truth-seeker/teller, devoted to restoring real health, dignity, and sovereignty to the body, mind, and spirit.

My work bridges science and my passed down ancestral knowledge together, to support those navigating disabilities, chronic illness/ long-term illnesses and more; such as sports nutrition and food safety. I advocate for ethical healthcare, informed consent, nutritional support in healthcare, and culturally relevant grounded healing and nutrition education and information.

This is not just a business it is a calling out of my own lived experiences and wanting to help Others and share how I also helped myself.

"Let's talk about gummies.
Evervone keeps recommending supplement gummies, but here's the truth most brands won't tell vou.Gummies are not an optimal way to supplement. Why? Because a majority of gummies are:
β€’ High in added sugars or glucose syrups
β€’ Ultra-processed
β€’ Often contain lower doses of the active nutrient
β€’ Can damage teeth and spike blood sugars.

This counteracts the purpose of
supplementation in the first place.
sugar-based delivery systems make no physiological sense.
Gummies are designed for:
● taste
● compliance
● marketing
● And Have No Therapeutic effects.

The Better options are:
Capsules, liquids, powders, or food-based supplements with verified dosages and with minimal additives listed in their ingredients.

Health is not supposed to taste like sweets - and If it does, please question it!

Evidence-shows:
● Most gummies contain 2-8g of added sugar per serving
● Sugar intake worsens insulin resistance and inflammatior

So last week the House of Lords food, diet and obesity committee produced a report called: Recipe for health; a plan to fix our broken food system.

I finally got around to reading it and thought I would post a reading of the summary as this report is extremely important for the future of public health and development as our quality of life and how its sustained is important and involves many factors, that need serious solutions; as there is an increase of childhood obesity and diet related illnesses in the UK!

This must be improved on and facilities created to increase education on the basic fundermentals of nutrition, health and food preparation skills is drastically needed......and is something I am currently working on creating to help individuals start a healthier food journey they can sustain, so watch this space plans and hard work are slowly coming together!

September Is Sickle Cell Awareness Month.
Sickle cell anaemia is a group of hemoglobin-related blood disorders that are inherited. The most common type is known as sickle cell anaemia. It results in an abnormality in the oxygen-carrying protein haemoglobin found in red blood cells. Sickle cells blocks the blood flow to organs depriving the affected organs of blood and oxygen. In sickle cell anaemia, blood also is low in oxygen. This lack of oxygen-rich blood can damage nerves and organs, including the kidneys, liver and spleen, and can be fatal.

I am currently studying at the University of Greenwich for my Masters in Food Safety Quality Management and as part of my studies, I am undertaking a research study entitled: Understanding consumer awareness and perceptions of functional for marketing and food safety regulatory purposes.
