Aims:
The Aims of the organisation is to bring the plight of kono to the world and to bring well to do Kono people and Affiliates to help their Land through Education, proper medical facilities and to support people in the diaspora who might be in problems, it will also aim at bringing politicials together to crave their indulgence in other to fast track the development of kono. Objectives
To help provide educational support for children of Kono through the provision of leearning and teaching materials. To support the improvement of medical facilities in Kono District. To unite Kono people and Affiliates together, to help the Land in other to achieve the above project. To act as a presure group on politicial in other to move them to act. Vission
Our vission is to see a Kono Land full of hopes with proper facilities that can be found in other districts within Sierra Leone and other places in the world. Background
The history of Kono
Kono District: is in the Eastern Area which is a District of Sierra Leone in its own right, with big capital city Koidu and other smaller Cities namely; Tombodu, Yengema, Motema, Jaiama Nimikoro and Jaiama Sewafe, Kono derived from the word (TAMAKONO), meaning wait for me there; with a broken city call Koidu Town and a prominent and developed town during SLST and NDMC Yengema. Kono experenced devastation during the Sierra Leone Civel War, which force the Indiginous/residents out of the District, Kono was heavuly looted, mass killing, infastrutures were distroyed amd the future of Children Education was distroyed and now we are experencing high moterlity rate, due to the lack of good hospitles and medicens. Kono District produces more and the largest Diamonds in Sierra Leone, with a minute population fewer than five hundred thousand (500,000) assumption, i am using assumption because i do not know the number of descendants living abroad. Kono is ethnically the most diverse District in Sierra Leone, with main towns like Koidu City, second City Yengema, Njaima Sewafe, Njaima Nimikoro, Masabendu and Junction (Condama), Sandor, Tombodu, Mambudu checkpoint, Motema, Njagbama Fearma, Seima, and kaikundu. Kono District suffered the most during the War, in terms of destruction, killing and it was constantly in fighting because She is the Diamond rich reserved in Sierra Leone, the population was closed to one million (100,000), which include all tribes in Sierra Leone which makes Kono the most diverse District. Because of the lack of facilities like Education, no good Roads, Medical materials, school fees, all the care about is the indiscriminate diamond mining which has no direct benefit to the indiginous kono people due to the corruption of the chiefs and the politicians. In this light the children have drop out of schools, no proper medicational facilities which has course the future of Kono District has now blink. One thing we would like is; all Kono descendants and people living there now and Affiliates, to come together and develop Kono District in every little way, by becoming a member and donating to the Organization; All From Kono and Affiliates Organisation.
