Over the past few weeks I’ve had the privilege of volunteering with in a remote village near Udon Thani, Thailand, where access to healthcare is very limited for many vulnerable people.
My role was to provide physio care for local villagers who had suffered injuries and strokes, in a setting where healthcare is greatly needed, as well as teaching English to children in the local primary and kindergarten schools (mad respect to my teacher friends - who knew kids loved the number 6 and 7 😂).
Volunteer2Thai also organised a Christmas event for the community, made possible by the kindness of people who volunteered their time and donated to help feed around 180 children, provide presents and decorations, and even support sports equipment — which is so important here, as the kids absolutely love it.
It’s been a profound and humbling experience working with such lovely people. Huge respect to Raimund, who runs Volunteer2Thai and does incredible work creating opportunities and support for both the children and the villagers in this community.
It was also so lovely meeting the other volunteers and sharing this experience together.
Feeling truly blessed to have been part of it. ❤️
