Before I shave my head again today — because at this point I genuinely enjoy wearing it bald and it has become part of my signature look — I want to share my journey over the last 4 months.
Many of you met me when I was completely bald in 2016–2017 and watched me regrow my hair and brows using the Zyzven Naturals Onion Growth Oil.
Back then, the diagnosis given to me was Alopecia Universalis.
Then in 2022, I started noticing my hair thinning again.
At first, I brushed it off I assumed it was related to me trying to lose weight.
But around February this year, everything accelerated. My scalp changed rapidly, the thinning got worse, and that’s when I started digging deeper and using my own products aggressively.
Many of you also noticed that since July, I kept my head covered.
That wasn’t insecurity that was intention.
I didn’t want to reveal the regrowth until the time was right.
So now… this is the journey of the last 6 months — before I shave again.
CCCA Alopecia: The Silent Epidemic Affecting Black Women
CCCA is one of the most common, underdiagnosed, and misdiagnosed forms of scarring alopecia in Black women.
So many of us walk around with:
• itchy scalp
• burning
• tightness
• thinning crown
• patches that “won’t grow back”
…never knowing it’s actually CCCA.
And by the time most women get diagnosed, the follicles are already scarred.
This is why it’s SO important to understand that:
CCCA is NOT just hair loss — it is inflammation.
🔥 Inflammation Is the Core Problem
CCCA destroys follicles from the centre outward.
And the biggest fuel behind it is:
👉 Chronic internal inflammation.
If the inflammation inside your body stays high, your scalp cannot calm down and the condition keeps spreading.
🌿 Why Diet Plays a Huge Role
Your scalp will not heal if your diet is constantly triggering inflammation.
Foods that worsen inflammation:
• processed foods
• sugar
• fried foods
• wheat + gluten
• dairy
• red/processed meat
• canola/vegetable/soybean oils
Foods that help reduce inflammation:
• leafy greens
• berries
• turmeric & ginger
• sweet potatoes
• lentils & beans
• omega-3s
• green tea, moringa, alkaline herbs
Reducing inflammation = giving your scalp room to heal.
💆🏽♀️ Head Massage Helps Too
Daily gentle massage:
• increases blood flow
• reduces tightness
• supports oxygen flow to follicles
• helps any surviving follicles stay active
Combined with a stimulating oil, it makes a huge difference.
🌸 PCOS Alopecia — The Layer Women Don’t Talk About
For me, the hair loss wasn’t just CCCA.
I am also dealing with PCOS alopecia which shrinks follicles and triggers crown thinning, especially with insulin resistance.
Unbalanced hormones = hair loss.
Unbalanced blood sugar = more shedding + stubborn thinning.
This is why balancing hormones is not optional it’s essential.
And this is why I am so passionate about women’s health:
Because I have lived these conditions.
And now I use herbs to help women heal the same way I had to heal myself.

⭐ Healing Is an Inside–Out Job
You cannot fix CCCA with oils alone.

You cannot fix PCOS alopecia with scalp products alone.
You must work from the inside out.
This combined approach helps:
• reduce burning & tightness
• slow follicle destruction
• minimise shedding
• encourage regrowth where follicles are alive
