I am a fully qualified Sports & Remedial Massage therapist (BTEC Level 5 NLSSM) and registered with the Sports Massage Association (SMA). I have also have a BTEC in Holistic Massage from Essentials for Health. I treat a wide variety of people from athletes to weekend warriors - Sports Massage is particularly effective at treating soft tissue injuries, dealing with postural issues, addressing neck and back pain as well as more general aches and pains. In my treatment plans I will always strive to get to the root cause of any issue with the aim of being pain free, having increased flexibility/mobility and getting the most out of life. I have also worked for the London Marathon, World series Triathlon, The Telegraph working alongside their medical team and I currently provide sports massage clinics at TenPilates in London on a Tuesday and a Friday. www.tenpilates.co.uk (voted best gym by Tatler in 2013)

We’re so excited to be sharing our newly designed website with you. All the photography is by the super talented and every picture shows off a different space designed and styled by Chris and me (Helena ☺️) here at Pink and Ink. (Read more about us on the website!)

There will be a projects page coming soon with more examples of our work. For example; a modern London townhouse, a Victorian home in Bedfordshire and a stunning house renovation that we’re currently working on in Sussex.

Vitamin b12 is vital for your overall health & wellbeing - vegans & vegetarians must consider supplementation - read on for a great article that covers all you need to know 🤓

Vitamin B12 is essential for health because it helps make protein, helps red blood cells to carry oxygen, so vital for energy, and is essential for making DNA, building nerves and the brain. One of the most critical processes in the body, methylation, depends on B12.

Without healthy methylation blood levels of homocysteine rise, which is associated with pregnancy problems, memory loss, poor mood, increased anxiety and ultimately nerve dysfunction experienced as loss of sensation in the extremities (peripheral neuropathy). Every few seconds there are a billion methylation reactions in your body and brain, all dependent on B12. It’s also vital for gene expression - how genes are turned up or down.

Vitamin B12 in food must combine with a stomach secretion called intrinsic factor to be absorbed. Some people don't make enough intrinsic factor and hence are prone to pernicious anaemia, which is one cause of B12 deficiency, and must either supplement a lot more or have B12 injections. (The Pernicious Anaemia Society’s website www.pernicious-anaemia-society.org has very useful information if you suspect you may have an issue.)

▫️Strengthens + tones lower back, and legs.
▫️Strengthens the wrists, arms, abs.
▫️ It improves overall body awareness.
▫️ It helps correct spine alignment.
▫️ Improves posture.
COMMON MISTAKES:
▫️ Elbows splay out.
▫️ Chest caves towards the mat.
▫️ Sticking butt up/hips too high.
▫️ Relaxed core; center body sags.
▫️ Shoulders hunch forward/too low.
▫️ Hands too far forward or backward.
▫️ Let shoulders collapse lower than the elbow.⁠
CAUTIONS:
▫️ Don’t practice if you have carpel tunnel syndrome, or a shoulder, elbow, or wrist injury.
▫️ Lower knees or practice 8-point pose or plank as modifications.
