🚨 UK Va**ng Duty Update 🚨
From 1 October 2026, a new Va**ng Products Duty hits all v**e liquids. (Registration opens April)

That’s £2.20 per 10ml (plus VAT, so ~£2.64 extra) – flat rate, whether nic or zero-nic!

Registrations open April 2026. Duty stamps required!

ASH data shows the proportion of current smokers who have never tried va**ng has pretty much flatlined at 26% in 2024.

We ran a quick back-of-the-envelope forecast using Action on Smoking and Health (UK) historical trend to work out best, worst and central case scenarios.

Taking into account key factors:

✅ Misinformation
✅ Va**ng Products Duty
✅ Disposable ban impact

Results:
👉Best-case scenario: every smoker has at least tried va**ng by approx 2032
👉Central scenario: 2037
👉Worst-case: 15% have never tried in 2040

The next few years — with Va**ng Product Duty and post-disposable realities — will decide which path we take.

🚀 Excited to share this essential checklist for e-liquid label requirements. This is a must-read to ensure your products meet UK and EU standards.

Key highlights:

⚠️ Health warnings like “This product contains ni****ne which is a highly addictive substance” need to cover at least 30% of the packaging.
🧪 CLP classifications based on ni****ne levels – from ‘Toxic’ for high concentrations (17mg/ml - like in the image) to no classification for low ones, with pictograms and hazard statements.
👶 Child-resistant and tamper-evident packaging is non-negotiable!

👋 Hi, I’m Matt from Medic Pro, the v**e regulatory consultancy.

🇩🇪 Big news from Germany: The government’s gearing up for a ban on disposable e-cigarettes, confirmed by State Secretary Rita Schwarzelühr-Sutter in a Bundesrat session on November 21st.

After years of push from federal states and environmental groups, it’s driven by massive waste issues—over 60 million disposables used yearly, causing around 30 fires a day in waste facilities from lithium batteries.

Groups like BDE and DUH are calling for quick action to protect health, especially kids, with the ban needing EU Commission approval via changes to to***co or electronic waste laws—similar to France and Belgium.

Since disposables were banned in the UK, retailers have had to shift focus. 👀

📈According to independent research conducted by KAM on behalf of Philip Morris Limited (PML): “Findings show that 68% of independent retailers believe that success will hinge on offering a varied product portfolio – one that includes a full range of e-cigarettes, heat-not-burn products, and oral ni****ne pouches, rather than relying on a single category as they may have done so previously with disposables.”

With one press of a button, the app will detect the misinformation and highlight it.
