The air was alive with the lively sounds of fiddles and classic Irish ballads 🎶 Residents sang along, tapped their toes, and even joined in with jigs and dances, filling every corner of Burrows House with joy and movement 💃🕺 From the first chord to the last crumb of soda bread, the energy was electric. Tables overflowed with traditional Irish treats, savory bites, and a little toast here and there to health and happiness 🍷

💜 A Wonderful Visit from Ladybird Nursery at Burrows House 🎨✨

Today at Burrows House , we were delighted to welcome the lovely children from Ladybird Nurseries for a very special visit . From the moment they arrived, the home was filled with smiles, laughter, and excitement as our residents and the little visitors spent time together enjoying each other’s company 😊

The morning was full of creativity as residents joined the children for a wonderful arts and crafts session, sharing colourful materials, ideas, and plenty of imagination 🎨🖍️. It was heart-warming to see everyone working side by side, chatting, creating, and encouraging one another as beautiful crafts began to take shape ✂️🌈

Moments like these are always so special, as they bring different generations together in such a natural and joyful way . Our residents loved spending time with the children, sharing smiles, laughter, and simple creative fun that brightened everyone’s day 🌟😊

It was a proud and memorable evening for everyone at Burrows House as our team attended the inspiring Bromley Adult Care Awards 2026 ✨🏆

The event was a wonderful celebration of the compassion, dedication and hard work that care professionals bring to their roles every single day. Simply being named finalists in four categories was already an incredible achievement for our team and a moment that filled us all with pride

We are especially delighted to celebrate two of our amazing team members who were recognised on the night. Khaddouj Barahaoua received The Dignity in Care Award, a recognition that truly reflects the kindness, respect and compassion she shows to residents every day. Mouloud Kherroubi was also honoured with The Workers Award, celebrating his dedication, commitment and the positive difference he makes within our home. Their passion for care shines through in everything they do and we could not be prouder 💜👏

Burrows House was also Highly Commended with Certificates of Appreciation for The Manager Award and The Team Award. This recognition reflects the teamwork, professionalism and shared commitment of everyone in our home

Pet Therapy … Yayyy 🦮🐈🦮🐕‍🦺💜

There was so much joy and excitement at Burrows House this week as our lovely residents welcomed a very special visitor. As part of a wonderful visit from the charity Pet Therapy, Helen came to spend time with everyone alongside her beautifully trained therapy dog, Sixsy. Together they brought warmth, comfort and plenty of smiles to the home 😁

Our residents absolutely love dogs and cats, so having Sixsy here was a truly special experience for everyone. From gentle cuddles and soft strokes to happy conversations and shared laughter, Sixsy had a magical way of brightening the room and lifting spirits. The visit wasn’t only meaningful for our residents, it also brought joy to our staff who loved seeing the happiness these moments created 🐕‍🦺

Pet therapy is known to bring comfort, calm and emotional connection, and this visit was a beautiful reminder of how powerful the bond between people and animals can be. Seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter and watching residents connect with Sixsy made the day incredibly heart-warming for everyone involved 🐾

We are delighted to share that Helen and Sixsy will now be visiting Burrows once every month, giving our residents many more opportunities to enjoy these special moments together. We are already looking forward to the next visit and more wagging tails, cuddles and smiles 🦮💜

There was such a warm sense of excitement at Burrows House as Team Rise - Raising Spirits returned for another uplifting visit. From the moment they walked through the door, our residents were smiling, chatting and ready to take part. You could feel the anticipation building around the room 😄

The afternoon was filled with interactive games and gentle exercises designed to get everyone involved, and it was beautiful to see how each resident joined in at their own pace. Some were quick to volunteer, eagerly taking the lead and encouraging others, while some preferred to cheer from their seats, clapping and laughing along. Every contribution mattered, and every smile told its own story 📖

One of the most heart warming moments was watching our residents work together as a team. With a little encouragement and plenty of cheers, they proudly led the way to victory. The pride and joy on their faces was truly special. There were high fives, applause and even a few happy tears as everyone celebrated together 🧩 ⚽

These visits mean so much more than just an afternoon of activities. They bring confidence, connection and a deep sense of belonging. Seeing our residents feel empowered, included and celebrated reminds us why moments like these are so important.
