Hey Everyone,

Our Co-founder Germaine is taking part in a Charity Fight Night to fundraise for Mind charity.

She will be learning Muay Thai from scratch over an 8 week period with
The White Collar Fight Club.

This is no easy feat. The training is intense and requires an high standard of physical fitness. Germaine has Sickle Cell Disorder, which is a debilitating chronic illness which causes intense episodic pain. She will find this challenging. Here is what she has to say.

“I want to support Mind. By participating in this event, I hope to help raise greater awareness regarding Sickle Cell Disorder, and the impact it has on both our physical and mental health.

Sickle Cell by its nature is a fluctuating condition. It is harsh on my body, my bones, my mind. My mental health does suffer as I struggle with the fluctuations caused by the pain.

I have hard days,
low days,
dark days. 🥺

A hospital Consultant once described it as ‘Circular Depression’ as it ebbs and flows much like my physical pain. This is why I feel this challenge will enable me to help others with sickle cell access support, and show that there is no shame in admitting when they are struggling. I want to encourage others to access the wonderful resources that Mind provides.

Please support my challenge so that Mind can benefit more people. Recent months have shown that we need to do as much as we can to support each other. Please help me to reach my JustGiving goal.

Please follow my progress via my Instagram pages and for regular updates.

Thank You All for being amazing!

Gem 💋♥️💋”

Special Educational Needs Transitions Limited ( ) is a company that my son and I founded. We will be creating specialist sensory and interactive toys to assist children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder into early education.

My son has Asperger’s Syndrome, so he helped to develop our concept. As an autism mum, I live in awe of him every day. We cannot wait to share what we have been working on with you all.

Please follow our journey. The link is in my bio if you wish to learn more about our work.

It's not enough to teach children manners, respect and kindness. As adults, when we feel confronted by someone who has a disability, we need to check our own judgements.
