There is a great deal of healing that can be done working with the feet alone! 👣

Thai foot massage works using similar principles to reflexology, with the addition of a wand, which can help with precision. In the Thai tradition, foot massage is believed to be of great benefit in relieving pain connected with the lower abdomen, eyes and chest. Of course, pain in the feet, ankles and legs is also directly targeted. 🙏

Hot stone massage is a specialist and ancient massage technique, which uses smooth basalt stone, warmed to between 43 and 65 degrees. 🪺

For some people, it is a new technique and it can sound a bit intimidating. So I want to tackle some of the concerns that I hear people share about hot stone massage before they try it! 👩‍🏫

1️⃣”What if they burn me?”
Firstly, a properly trained therapist will have the appropriate equipment and testing techniques to ensure that the stones are at the right temperature. Secondly, the stones are not heated to a temperature at which they will burn your skin - just to the level that they feel pleasant and do their job,

2️⃣”Stones are so hard - won’t it hurt?”
The stones are completely smooth and sometimes, can even offer a more pleasant texture than skin! Our training also means that we know exactly how much pressure to apply to ensure that this will never become painful. On top of this, we are trained to tune into your physical feedback so we can adjust our pressure accordingly.

3️⃣”It just seems like a gimmick!”
It is true that hot stone massage is no better or worse than any other massage and so in that way, does not have special benefits. However, the heat of the stones does add a certain depth of pe*******on to the massage. People often prefer hot stone massage as a matter of personal taste.
