Every year North London Hospice provides specialist end-of-life support to more than 3,500 patients

North London Hospice is a registered charity that has been caring for local people since 1984. We help those with a potentially life-limiting illness who have specialist needs. We welcome people from all faiths and communities within the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield and Haringey offering physical, emotional and spiritual care. We are now also able to offer some of our services to people within Camden and Islington.

Happy International Women’s Day to all our fantastic staff, volunteers, supporters, patients and their families 💜

This International Women’s Day, we want to highlight just some of the incredible women who work here at the hospice, helping us to provide our vital services to the community.

Every day we are inspired by our wonderful teams of doctors, nurses, cleaners, caterers, social workers, fundraisers, volunteers and supporters, and it is thanks to you that we can be here for our patients and their loved ones when they need us most.

This Friday, we’re sending a huge thank you to the incredible Breast Cancer Sisters who hosted a beautiful afternoon tea fundraiser in support of North London Hospice.

The group of 46 women, all of whom have had or are undergoing breast cancer treatment, reached out to us after one of their members sadly needed our care.

They proposed an afternoon tea and raffle which took place on Saturday 22 November 2025 at Highlands Village Hall, and welcomed around 150 guests, including our ambassador, Michelle Collins.

Everything was donated, from the table cloths and centrepieces to the delicious cakes, and the group had over 80 raffle prizes and around 10 auction pieces available.

Thanks to their extraordinary efforts, an amazing £19,000 was raised for the hospice.

Group members Eleni, Mary, Alexandra and Fran shared: “We are incredibly proud of the amount raised for North London Hospice – a charity whose work is both vital and deeply valued. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and to our generous donors. All the support made this achievement possible, and we are truly grateful.”

Happy World Book Day! 📚✨ Today is all about celebrating the stories that shape us. From the characters we’ve loved, to the adventures we’ve escaped into.

From the leafy paths of Hampsted Heath to the breathtaking views at Primrose Hill, and on to the historic heart of Westminster. Every step holds a story.

Inspired by the continued success of our Forever In Our Hearts display, North London Hospice is proud to introduce Butterfly Reflections 🦋

For a donation, you can dedicate a handcrafted stainless steel butterfly in memory of someone special. These unique, delicately crafted butterflies have been created especially for North London Hospice and offer a beautiful, lasting way to honour and remember your loved one. Each butterfly features detailed, iridescent wings and can be personalised with a name or short message, inscribed on a heart-shaped ornament connected to the stake.

In June 2026, a breathtaking kaleidoscope of butterflies will be displayed in the peaceful gardens of West Lodge Park. We hope that visiting the Butterfly Reflections garden will bring you a moment of comfort and calm this summer. After the display, your butterfly will be yours to keep forever.

Highlights from February at North London Hospice 💙

We marked Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year across the hospice with delicious food, vibrant decorations and heartfelt dedications – small touches that created space for reflection, celebration and connection . We received an incredible donation of pizza for all the staff and volunteers from the family of a patient, thank you again for such a thoughtful and kind gesture 👏

Beyond the celebrations, it’s also been a month of milestones and courage as we proudly opened our 20th North London Hospice shop in Camden, and our brave supporters took the plunge at our inaugural Cold Water Dip! A big well done and thank you to everyone who took part!❄️

A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone who took part in our Cold Water Dip last Saturday 28 February!

17 brave supporters took the plunge into icy waters at Parliament Hill Lido, all to raise vital funds for the hospice. We are delighted to share that over £13,218 has been raised, with that total still climbing! Brrrilliant work!👏❄️

We would also like to extend our thanks to Parliament Hill Lido for letting us use their facilities for the dip, to our photographer Joel for capturing our shocked supporters as they entered the icy waters, and to North London Hospice staff and volunteers who baked delicious cakes for our cake stall.

We also received some brilliant raffle prizes from the following supporters Prime Time Beer No5 Dining & Lounge Ottolenghi London Outdoor Fitness, Yogawithcharli, Climbing District London, clueQuest - LIVE Escape Game in London Camden Tea Company Hotel Chocolat at Brent Cross Shopping Centre and more. A very big thank you to Primark, Wood Green for their wonderful support! Last December, the Primark Wood Green team raised over £225 through in-store fundraising and generously donated 30 care packages for our patients.

"Supporting North London Hospice during the Christmas period was truly our pleasure," said Primark team member Iwona. "Our team went above and beyond, and we deeply value the opportunity to support such a worthwhile cause."

This was the second year Primark has supported us during the festive season, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued generosity. Thank you Primark! 💙
