New year, new challenge… are you ready to brave the chill? ❄️ We’re calling on YOU to face the freeze on Saturday 28 February 2026 and take on the coolest challenge around – the Cold Water Dip.

Cold water dipping involves briefly immersing your body for 1-5 minutes in cold water; usually around 4 degrees Celsius. Once the secret weapon of athletes for soothing tired muscles, it’s now a popular choice for anyone chasing a burst of energy, a clear head and a boost for body and mind.

Happy ! This week we want to say a huge thank you to supporter Anne-Marie, who ran the Richmond Park Half Marathon in memory of her mum Eileen.

"I'd never run a half marathon before and it felt like a great opportunity to raise money." she said. "The hospice supported me and my family during our hardest of times."

Anne-Marie smashed her fundraising target, raising an incredible £3,717.75! Thank you Anne-Marie for your support 💙

This week we want to say a massive thank you to volunteer Angie and her friend Helen, who in September took part in the London to Brighton cycle to raise money for the hospice.

Following an important operation on Angie’s leg, she suddenly found herself looking for a non-weight bearing exercise, and with a love of the outdoors it wasn’t before long that she took up her childhood hobby of cycling.

Keen for a challenge, Angie signed herself up for the London to Brighton Bike Ride, a 55-mile route beginning in London’s Clapham Common and ending at the Sussex seaside town. With friend and fellow cyclist Helen by her side, the pair raised money for the hospital who cared for Angie, alongside North London Hospice.

“I feel so strongly that North London Hospice is a fantastic place with care that’s second to none and it was an honour to do something to help,” said Angie. “I have seen grief in close quarters and to be able to be a part of the whole journey for patients and their families is a privilege. Fundraising for North London Hospice was just another way to lend my support to this vital work.”

We’ve pulled together this handy guide to help you prepare for our latest challenge – the Cold Water Dip. ❄️

We’re calling on the bravest North Londoners to face the freeze and take on the coolest challenge around. Before you take the dip, you’ll get a brilliant coaching session from a qualified instructor of the Wim Hof Method to help you prepare. You’ll learn simple breathing and meditation techniques to keep you calm and focused, plus handy tips on how to enter the water safely. We’ll also cover the do’s, don’ts, and must-knows of cold water dipping, including how to warm up properly afterwards so you finish feeling fabulous, not frozen.
