InFlight

InFlight InFlight is an exciting aerial programme for beginners. It's free and held at Wac Arts in London. The course is aimed at beginners.

InFlight is a professional development project for people already involved in physical sports or art forms who would like to expand their skill base with aerial work. The project runs part-time for two years and will provide participants with intensive training in trapeze, cocoon, silks and rope as well as harness techniques like abseil and bungee harness. Year 2 will involve the creation of an ensemble final performance in collaboration with other artists from dance, theatre, digital media and/or visual art. We welcome people who have always aspired to train aerial skills but may have never had the opportunity and particularly welcome applicants skilled in other disciplines (i.e. martial arts, climbing, parkour, dance, physical theatre, b-boying, stunting, yoga etc). The course is funded by WacArts and the Arts Council and is free (A £120 deposit will be required which is returned on course completion). Training will be provided by Scarabeus and Upswing. Some lovely comments from our very own Eve about the InFlight programme!

As some of you may know, just a few weeks ago I finished a year long aerials course called InFlight at Wac Arts. This year was such an amazing experience and I feel an enormous gratitude toward you all who mad this possible. Firstly a huge thank you to Wac Arts for creating this fully funded opportunity, I literally could never have done this without you, you make dreams come true, please keep doing the wonderful work you do. To all InFlight staff you've done such a brilliant job working out this crazy schedule and making sure to create the best atmosphere for us to work in, thank you for that. A BIG BIG thank you to the amazing instructors from Scarabeus and Upswing Aerial; Thank you thank you thank you Daniela Essart for your brilliant insight and skills, the wonderful yoga warm ups and artistic direction of course. Another thank you to Soren Nielsen for keeping us safe at all times, so greatly appreciated. Please thank Bea for me too as I don't have her on FB. To Victoria Amedume a huge thank you for pushing us to give the best we can at every second, to get so far in one year is largely due to this attitude. Thank you Charline Kandilian for being the sweetest most patient instructor of all, and Angeliki Nikolakaki thank you for loads of creative ideas, sharing your impressive knowledge and having constant attention to our progress. You guys completely transformed my skills and I cannot thank you enough, so again THANK YOU from all my heart for teaching me to fly.
p.s. If anyone is looking for some aerial lessons, go ahead and check this guys out Scarabeus Upswing Aerial they are AMAZING and will teach you to fly, guaranteed ! Also they have amazing shows going on you don't wanna miss out
