Let me start off by saying; personal growth is the most important thing. Daily discovery and understanding of yourself is the nature of this growth. Every day we are learning and discovering things about ourselves that we never knew; we may find that when it matters and when we are tested we go far beyond the limitations that we have placed on ourselves. Which leads me on to this; there is no one you have to beat or be better than, other than yourself. As human beings we can be partial to pointing fingers or making excuses as to why we are not where we want to be. Why do we do this? Because it’s easy! This leads me to quote in the words of Bruce Lee ‘Do not pray for an easy life, pray for the strength to endure a difficult one’. So what barriers stop us from being where we want to be? Let me tell you that the body follows the mind, so the body won’t do what the mind doesn’t allow it to. If we allow our minds to remove any limitations or doubts that have been previously placed there, we will see that when working congruently; mind and body are the perfect team! All kinds of positivity can stem from this, things like confidence, self-worth, positive thinking, positive attitude, knowing that you can achieve ANYTHING! It’s on you, it always has been, you decide the outcome!

Today, the world lost a legend, but for me, Ricky Hatton was more than just a fighter-he was an inspiration. From the early days watching him in the ring to witnessing the heart, grit, and determination that defined his career, Ricky was a symbol of perseverance, passion, and staying true to yourself.

As a Manchester City fan, I saw in him the same fighting spirit that inspires every fan, every underdog, every dreamer. Beyond the belts and victories, Ricky was a man of the people-humble, approachable, and always authentic. He openly battled mental health struggles, and that bravery made him a hero not only inside the ring but in life.

I was fortunate enough to complete the Hatton Boxing for Fitness course as a personal trainer here in London. Being in the gym, learning the techniques, and seeing the love he poured into helping others stay fit and confident, I felt even more connected to his legacy. Ricky reminded us that strength isn’t just about power-it’s about heart, resilience, and lifting others up along the way.

Though he’s gone too soon, his spirit, his passion, and his humanity will live on. Thank you, Ricky, for showing us what it means to fight-with courage, with heart, and with soul. You’ll forever be a hero in my eyes.

🌟 Gratitude to my Sifu 🌟

When I first walked into Sifu Lak Loi’s Jeet Kune Do London school, I had no martial arts background - just a love for the movies I grew up watching and a desire to finally take that step my younger self couldn’t. My parents worried I’d get hurt, so I never trained as a kid. But as an adult, I knew I needed to change: I needed to get healthier, leaner, stronger-not just physically, but mentally too.

Joining Sifu’s school was one of the best decisions of my life. Under his guidance, I didn’t just learn how to kick, punch, and flow with the art of Bruce Lee-I learned how to live better. Sifu doesn’t just train the body; he trains the mind. He teaches us to look at life through a wider lens, to be more resilient, more disciplined, more compassionate, and more self-aware.

Because of this training, I’ve grown into a more rounded person. I carry myself differently. I face challenges with grit and mental tenacity. And the truth is, martial arts has made me less likely-not more likely-to use violence. It’s given me perspective, patience, and a deeper respect for myself and others.

I believe every child should experience martial arts-not just for the self-defense, but for the life lessons it instills. Thank you, Sifu, for showing me that martial arts is not just about fighting, but about becoming a better human being. 🙏

There was a time when I benefited from a personal trainer...

When I first started this journey, I knew one thing for sure: I didn’t know it all. In fact, I knew very little. And that’s why I hired a personal trainer.

It was one of the best choices I’ve ever made. My PT gave me the guidance, structure, and accountability I needed—but more than that, they gave me belief. They showed me how to train properly and with great form, how to fuel my body, and how to take care of myself in a way that would last a lifetime.

This wasn’t just about fitness—it was about self-respect, confidence, and building habits that have completely changed the way I live. 💪

Looking back, I’m grateful I didn’t let pride get in the way. Asking for help didn’t make me weak—it set me free. 🙏

This decision didn’t just transform my body. It transformed my life. 🩵

There was a time when I didn’t recognise the person staring back at me in the mirror. I was tired, unhealthy and running on late nights, junk food, and alcohol. I wasn’t just losing my fitness—I was losing my confidence.

But deep down, I knew I was capable of more. Growing up, I admired athletes who pushed limits. Bruce Lee was a huge inspiration to me - not for size or the image he portrayed on the big screen - but for his discipline, focus, knowledge, agility, physical strength and mental strength.

So I decided to change. Step by step:
✅ I cleaned up my diet
✅ I cut back on alcohol
✅ I started running regularly
✅ I joined a Jeet Kune Do school
✅ I trained consistently
✅ I fixed my sleep and gave my body the rest it needed

It wasn’t easy, but slowly, my body responded. My energy came back. My confidence returned. My mind grew stronger than ever.

I’m still a work in progress, but that’s the beauty of it—growth is in the journey, not just the result. 🌱

If you want change, you must choose change. And if I could turn my life around, so can you. 💪🔥

I get told all the time: “You should look more like a PT.” But here’s the truth—fitness isn’t one-size-fits-all.

People train for different reasons: some for aesthetics, some for performance, some for health. You can’t have the absolute best of all three at once because each path requires something different.

Athletes train to perform, not to look a certain way. Bodybuilders train to look a certain way, often sacrificing performance. Most of us? We just want to feel healthy, move better, and enjoy life.

So when people expect me to fit the “personal trainer stereotype,” I remind them: being healthy doesn’t have a single look. Health is balance, and balance looks different on everyone.

Your journey is about your goals, your body, and your version of strong. Don’t let stereotypes hold you back.
