Do I do a Mini facelift? 💉

Every week, someone asks me if I do mini facelifts. But here’s the truth... a “mini” lift is often just a marketing trick. It pulls on the surface without actually fixing what’s happening underneath.

A deep plane facelift lifts the mattress back onto the frame, restoring structure and contour. A mini lift.. It just tugs at the duvet and hopes for the best.

If something bothers you, talk to an experienced facelift surgeon...not a catchy marketing term. Sometimes, you just need a bit of volume. But if surgery is the answer, it should be done properly💡✨

Planning surgery?... timing is everything ⏳✨

Facial plastic surgery isn’t just about the procedure... it’s about your mindset, your stress levels, and your recovery environment.

Here’s what matters...

⚡ Stress affects healing... If life is chaotic, your cortisol levels go up, slowing recovery. Surgery should be for you, not because of external pressure.

☀️ Timing matters... Planning a summer in Dubai? Do it first. Sun exposure on healing scars can cause long-term pigmentation. No point booking surgery if you’re about to live like a vampire on holiday 🦇😂

You always look worse before you look better. So set yourself up for success... plan smart, recover right, and enjoy the process💡✨

Mini lift… mini result 😬

Sure, it sounds appealing. Less downtime, smaller scars, quicker fix.

But the truth is... it doesn’t go deep enough. Most mini facelifts only work on the surface. They tug at the skin without addressing what’s really aged: the deeper layers.

So the result? It looks nice… for a few months. Then gravity does its thing... and you’re back where you started🌀

If you’re going to do it...do it properly. Go deeper. Get longer-lasting, natural results. Your face deserves more than a “mini” solution ✨

Plastic surgery isn’t like buying an iPhone 📱❌

When you buy an iPhone in London, New York, or Singapore... it’s the same product.

Surgery? Completely different story.

There are always three players in the room:
1. The patient...Your genetics, lifestyle, and healing ability.
2. The surgeon... Skill, precision, and technique.
3. Mother Nature... The unpredictable force that ultimately dictates how your body heals.

Healing isn’t instant. It depends on age, habits, genetics, and aftercare. You can have the best surgeon, but if you smoke, skip aftercare, or expect magic, you’re setting yourself up for disappointment.

Plastic surgery is a partnership... you, me, and Mother Nature. We can only control so much 🌿✨

So... what do you actually do after surgery? 😅

Best thing you can do? Keep busy. I don’t mean go run a marathon or vacuum the ceiling. I mean light stuff such as Netflix, podcasts, puzzles, journaling, annoying your friends with voice notes... anything to keep your mind off the healing.

When your brain is busy, you’re less likely to stress, poke at things, or panic-Google symptoms at 2am 😵‍💫 Stay calm. Stay distracted. Let your body do its thing ✨

Surgery aftercare? Think sushi. 🍣

A good surgeon is like a good sushi chef... obsessed with details.

We go to conferences, swap notes, argue over ointments (yes, really). Because when it comes to scars, every decision matters.

Already had surgery? Stick to your surgeon’s advice.

Still choosing one? Pick someone who treats your aftercare like Jiro treats rice. Watch Jiro Dreams of Sushi... you’ll get it. He even makes smaller rice pieces for women… so they finish at the same time as men. That level of obsession? That’s what you want in your surgeon.

And please...don’t ask for ketchup with your sushi 🍅😅

On Ozempic? Stop it 14 days before surgery ⚠️💉

Ozempic slows down stomach emptying, which can be dangerous during surgery... especially under sedation or general anaesthesia.

Here’s why…

🚨 Risk of aspiration: If your stomach isn’t fully empty, fluids or food can move up while waking up from anaesthesia.

🚨 Weakened reflexes: Your body’s natural cough reflex is slower, increasing the risk of fluid entering the lungs.

🚨 Pneumonia danger: If anything gets into your lungs, it can lead to serious complications.

Pause Ozempic at least 14 days before surgery. It’s a small step that keeps you safe 💡

Healing is like painting...you need to let the layers dry 🎨✨

A patient recently came to me just 3 months after surgery, unhappy and wanting a revision immediately but here’s the thing... you can’t rush healing.

Think of it like painting 🎭 You wouldn’t slap on a new layer of color before the first one has dried, right? Same with surgery. Scars need time to settle, tissue needs to mature...then we can talk about refinements.

Surgery is a process, not an instant fix. give it time💡

Hide your mirrors after surgery...🪞🙅‍♂️

Seriously. In the first few weeks, everything looks weird. Swollen, uneven, lumpy... and your face changes every few hours.

So you check… and check again… and end up spiralling over something that isn’t even final 😵‍💫

Your face is healing, not misbehaving. Give it time...

✨ Trust the process
✨ Trust your surgeon
✨ And maybe just skip the 10x magnifying mirror for a bit 😅

Does running affect your facelift? 🏃‍♀️💨

Yes. Gravity + repetitive motion = more stress on your face over time. That’s why things descend as we age... your ears aren’t growing, your earlobes are just stretching. Same principle applies post-facelift.

Are there exact studies on how many years you “lose” from running? Nope. (Nike, feel free to fund one 😂) But excessive vertical movement can impact longevity, so talk to your surgeon... especially during recovery 💡✨
