Smart choices, wherever you are!

If you’re travelling this half term, remember that even on holiday, you can choose to have simple, balanced meals.

This chicken Caesar salad ( I assure you there was plenty of chicken under all the lettuce 😂) was perfect for the warm Muscat weather: protein for steady energy, greens for fibre and healthy fats to keep me full and focused.

Back home, in rainy London ( no worries I’ll be back in a few days ☺️); I’d swap this for a warm salad like roasted veggies, spinach and some grilled salmon or lentils if you prefer it plant based.

The principle is the same: build your plate thinking about protein first, then fibre and some healthy fats too.

Nutritious food doesn’t have to be complicated or take ages to prepare, aim for balance and simplicity and you can’t go wrong.

World Menopause Day = Everyday in my clinic!

World Menopause Day was yesterday but every day feels like menopause day in my clinic and in my own life too.

This stage can definitely bring challenges: sleepless nights, shifting moods, random aches and pains, a foggy brain and bodies that suddenly feel unfamiliar (to name just a few!).

I get it, because I’m living it too.

But menopause isn’t the end of vitality , it’s an invitation to slow down, listen, and support ourselves differently.

Through nutrition, lifestyle shifts, maybe HRT for some, and self-compassion, we can feel grounded, energised, and at home in our bodies again.

What if I told you that this can be the time to reclaim balance, confidence, clarity and to honour the wisdom that only comes with experience?

Here’s to every woman embracing this transition with courage and curiosity.

Today I earned my brown belt in 💪

At almost 53, while navigating hormonal changes( like many of my clients), this feels more than a fitness goal. It isn’t ‘just’ about martial arts. It’s about resilience, consistency, and doing things that make you feel alive.

I know many of you struggle with low energy and lack of motivation as your body changes, but movement doesn’t have to mean punishment or perfection.
It can be fun, grounding and empowering.

Find something you love, move because it lifts your mood and clears your mind, keep showing up, and celebrate the small wins along the way.

Strength isn’t just physical. It’s the quiet confidence that comes from showing up for yourself, again and again.

And it’s the small wins that build confidence and resilience ❤️

Have you see Joe Wick’s documentary last night?

If you’re one of my clients you already know that all the protein bars out there are just junk food marketed as somehow ‘healthy’.

You already know how to read food labels and not get sucked into buying this kind of crap.

You know how to navigate a supermarket/food shop/ restaurant because you have invested time and money to follow the advice of a professional (yes, me! ☺️) and you know better!

We know we need better food regulations but what was Wicks trying to achieve with creating yet another unhealthy bar and putting more garbage on the shelves?

I’m not sure but the whole thing made me cringe….

And if you’re shocked by what was shown last night, then I need to quote and tell you to wake the f*** up 😂

Now, go and grab an apple and some nuts/seeds so you won’t be tempted to buy any expensive, processed junk!

Nourishment beyond food ❤️

Sometimes, nourishment looks like wild sea air, slow mornings with family, and sun warmed vegetables straight from the market.

As a nutritionist and health coach, I talk a lot about what we est, but it’s how we live that brings it all together.

At the moment I’m slowing down and letting myself be nourished by simplicity, beauty and presence.

A little reminder that our wellbeing isn’t built just in the kitchen or the gym, but in moments like this.
