✨ Mitzvah Day at Spring Grove Care Home ✨

We had a fantastic time celebrating Mitzvah Day! Alongside games and fun activities, our residents got creative in the kitchen — baking and decorating biscuits that will be sent to and distributed to local homeless shelters. 🍪💚

We were honoured to welcome Mitzvah Day founder Laura Marks CBE with her daughter Sally Patterson, and Laura’s husband Dan, who filled the home with wonderful musical entertainment. 🎶

In the lead-up to Mitzvah Day, our community also came together to collect a huge range of items for the JW3 foodbank — thank you to everyone who contributed. Your kindness makes a real difference. 💛

🥪 Celebrating National Sandwich Day at Spring Lane Care Home! 🥳

Our residents had a deliciously educational and filling afternoon discovering the origins of the humble sandwich — all thanks to John Montagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, the English aristocrat and card player who (legend has it) first tucked his steak between two slices of bread!

We also explored how sandwiches feature in Jewish tradition, such as the Passover Matzo sandwich.

Everyone then enjoyed tasting a selection of classic fillings — tuna and cucumber, cheese and tomato, egg mayonnaise and Coronation chicken — on either white or brown bread, before voting for their favourite! ❤

Residents commented that it was the best thing since sliced bread.

The Summer Festival at Springview on Sunday was a blast! The residents took a journey back through time with the fleet of classic cars. There was also a fire engine, BBQ, Jazz band and much more. All the money raised will be donated to the RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station to support them in their lifesaving work. A big thank you to all our contributors
