At Springview Care Home, we celebrated International Women’s Day with a day of inspiration, music and togetherness.
Residents enjoyed learning about remarkable women from history, a wonderful performance from the Enfield In Song Choir, and a lovely tea party to finish.

Our final Employee Appreciation Day of 2026 turned into quite the party thanks to all the staff at Springview Care Home. It certainly helped to have the great food and entertainment provided by our wonderful teams!

🌼 Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus from Springdene Care Homes! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🐉
We proudly celebrated St David’s Day with a wonderful Welsh-themed experience across our homes. Residents enjoyed traditional Tan Y Castell Welsh cakes, Abergavenny goat’s cheese and (for those who wished) a small tasting of Aber Falls Welsh single malt whisky.
With Welsh music playing, dancing and even a little clogging, the atmosphere was full of energy, reminiscence and laughter. 🌼
A particularly special part of the day was celebrating our own Welsh residents, Rona and Ian, whose pride and personal stories made the occasion even more meaningful.
St David’s famous words were:
“Do the little things.”
At Springdene Care Homes, we truly believe it is the little things — shared moments, cultural celebrations and meaningful connections — that make the biggest difference. 💚❤💛

Fine food and a festive atmosphere filled Spring Lane last week for the Employee Annual Appreciation Day as we celebrated all their hard work over the last year!

Yesterday we proudly celebrated International Women and Girls in Science Day at Spring Lane Care Home 💛

Our residents enjoyed a wonderful cognitive and reminiscence activity exploring the achievements of some of history’s most brilliant scientific minds — including Marie Curie, Rosalind Franklin, Ada Lovelace, Katherine Johnson and Jane Goodall.

The highlight of the session was celebrating the achievements of our very own resident, Professor Mary Forsling (Townley-Smith), who shared reflections on her remarkable career in neuroscience and physiology. It was a truly inspiring reminder that extraordinary life stories live right here within our home.

A beautiful afternoon of learning, memories, and celebration ✨

🧀 National Cheese Lovers Day at Spring Lane Care Home 🧀

Residents at Spring Lane marked National Cheese Lovers Day with a carefully curated tasting of classic British cheeses — creating conversation, connection and plenty of smiles.

The tasting included:
• Extra Mature Cumbrian Cheddar
• West Country Farmhouse Cheddar
• Somerset Goat’s Cheese
• Blue Stilton
• Barber’s Aged Red Leicester Cruncher
• Parlick Original Sheep’s Milk Cheese
• Applewood Cheese Smoked Cheddar

✨ Mitzvah Day at Spring Grove Care Home ✨

We had a fantastic time celebrating Mitzvah Day! Alongside games and fun activities, our residents got creative in the kitchen — baking and decorating biscuits that will be sent to and distributed to local homeless shelters. 🍪💚

We were honoured to welcome Mitzvah Day founder Laura Marks CBE with her daughter Sally Patterson, and Laura’s husband Dan, who filled the home with wonderful musical entertainment. 🎶

In the lead-up to Mitzvah Day, our community also came together to collect a huge range of items for the JW3 foodbank — thank you to everyone who contributed. Your kindness makes a real difference. 💛
