Alcohol and wellbeing, a conversation worth having.

When we talk about workplace wellbeing, alcohol doesn’t always make the agenda. But it quietly plays a role in many people’s lives, socially, emotionally, and culturally.

This isn’t about labels or judgement. It’s about awareness.

For many of us, alcohol is linked to:
• Unwinding after a demanding day
• Social connection
• Celebration
• Taking the edge off stress or overwhelm

None of these reasons make someone “good” or “bad”. They make us human. The more helpful question is often:
What role is alcohol playing for me right now?

Over time, habits that once felt like relaxation can start to:
• Disrupt sleep
• Increase anxiety the next day
• Reduce energy and concentration
• Become an automatic coping response rather than a conscious choice

Wellbeing isn’t about removing everything that helps us cope. It’s about having options.

Empowered choices might look like:
• Noticing patterns without self-criticism
• Exploring other ways to decompress
• Choosing when you drink, rather than feeling on autopilot
• Feeling comfortable saying “not tonight” without explanation

In workplace wellbeing, creating space for open, stigma-free conversations about health behaviours including alcohol helps people feel supported, not scrutinised.

Awareness builds choice. Choice builds wellbeing.

Support for your team, right at their desks.

When workloads are high, employees often push through tension and fatigue without taking proper breaks. Over time, this can impact comfort, concentration and overall wellbeing.

At Desk Massage offers a practical, accessible way to provide relief within the working day. Treatments are delivered in normal workwear, directly at employees’ workstations, with no need for special equipment or room setup.

This convenient format makes it easier for people to pause, reset and return to their tasks feeling more comfortable and focused.

Benefits can include
Reduced muscular tension in the neck, shoulders and back
Improved circulation and relaxation
A noticeable mental reset during busy periods
A visible demonstration that employee wellbeing is valued

Short, structured treatments can fit easily into the workday, making them ideal for offices, contact centres and fast-paced environments where time away from desks is limited.

A simple yet impactful addition to workplace wellbeing initiatives.

Emotional intelligence underpins how people communicate, collaborate and cope with pressure at work.

Our Emotional Intelligence workshop helps employees develop greater awareness of their own emotions and better understanding of others. By strengthening these skills, teams experience clearer communication, healthier relationships and more effective conflict management.

This creates calmer, more connected workplaces where people feel psychologically safer, more engaged and better equipped to navigate challenges together.

Building emotionally intelligent, resilient teams.

Chair massage - a practical wellbeing intervention.

When people hear “workplace massage,” they often think of it as a one-off treat. In reality, regular chair massage can play a meaningful role in supporting both physical and mental wellbeing at work.

Here’s what we consistently see with regular sessions:

• Reduced muscle tension in the neck, shoulders, and back, especially for desk-based roles.
• Improved circulation and posture awareness.
• A noticeable drop in stress and nervous system overload.
• Better focus and mental clarity after sessions.
• Employees feeling cared for, valued, and able to reset during busy days.

Chair massage works because it meets people where they are. A short pause that helps the body settle and the mind refocus.

When offered regularly, these small moments of relief add up, they support resilience, reduce accumulated strain, and help prevent minor issues becoming bigger ones.

Is your mind is jumping between tasks as the year wraps up?

Here’s a simple reset you can use at your desk:
👉 Sit comfortably and place your feet flat on the floor
👉 Take a slow breath in through your nose and gently touch your thumbs and forefingers together.
👉 As you breathe out, bring your attention into your fingertips and lightly rub them together.
👉 Continue for two or three more breaths, or until you feel sense of calm restored.

This brings your attention back into the present moment, which can steady your focus and calm the nervous system.
